Jan 20, 2026 I've been watching Rod Serling's Night Gallery in fits and starts. On Season 2 now. So far it rarely reaches Twilight Zone heights but some episodes come close, like "A Question of Fear" which I just saw last night. This one was a bit on the disturbing side: an Italian biochemist takes revenge on an ex American Colonel for cruelly mutilating his father during WWII, apparently by injecting him with a serum that will transform him into a human earthworm. He explains the process: "The bones of the body disintegrate without affecting the nervous system or the vital organs until the victim is, as near as can be, an earthworm, able to move on its belly, but without vertebrae; unable to stand -- able to feed, able to pass waste matter, but unable to use its arms and legs, except to assist with a slithering motion in the manner of an earthworm." The Colonel calls his bluff. Then the mad doc tells him to check out his own colleague who he at some point had given the same serum: "Then I suggest you pay another visit to the cellar. There you will see now my colleague. He's quite harmless, only rather repulsive. You see, his body, being a stout man, tended to metamorphose into that of a giant slug. Have a look at him; he won't mind. He's past caring about anything. Go and look at what you will be!" (At the risk of beating a dead slug I have to say this description sort of reminds me of what @BIGFOOT has become / is becoming on this forum. I've recently described him as a slithering worm, and even his new avatar is fitting LOL.)
