Jan 16, 2026 This turned out to be not true man Bly was absolutely beautiful. I mean, I thought HH could have used a little more horror, Bly only had a few actual creepy horror scenes -so I get the warning- but the constant idea of something happening (hence the comparison to Halloween Ends) mixed with amazing storytelling blew me away. This is above all a drama / love story sprinkled with some horror. HH definitely was more a horror story than this even if it was more drama as well. Hill House ended with closure, not so much with answers. I was surprised Bly actually did reveal the back story. I kinda hated and loved the ending (bittersweet) but overall this was great. House of Usher, Hill House, Bly... count me in as a Flanagan fan except MM. Might give it another chance though because I want more lmao. Hopefully we will get that in the future another chapter. Don't compare them though they are very different. Is midnight club also good? Also noticed Doctor Sleep is from him and Stephen King. I gave HH a 9/10 earlier but honestly, it's a 10/10 for me and so is Bly. Perfect, both.
Jan 16, 2026 I never watched Midnight Club but I hear it's his weakest cause of some Netflix meddling or something like that, I still need to watch it tho. Doctor Sleep and Geralds Game are great movies from him. Excited to watch The Life Of Chuck and his new Exorcist movie. He just finished making a Carrie show for Amazon too that's supposed to come out soon. Glad you enjoyed Bly! I still enjoy it but it definitely is a little more under the radar than some of his other work
Jan 17, 2026 I'm kinda scared to watch it knowing it will probably be weaker lmao. I hate when I finish a 10/10 show not knowing what to watch next. Got Doctor Sleep on dvd! Exorcist if done like Hill House could be a winner. But since it's about religion too I'm afraid it's gonna be 100 monologues about god and the devil lmao Probably gonna give MC a chance with lower expectations. Also wanted to give Midnight Mass another chance, but I noticed I watched until episode 4. Clicked play and like 30 minutes it has 28 mins of preaching and (unnecessary like 90%) monologue. After Bly I watched the new horror movie Together. It was really good but when I went to bed all that stuck in my head haunting me was this:
Jan 17, 2026 Few episodes in this is more of a anthology series. A group of terminally ill teens tell eachother scary stories each night. I really like that, and this is also way more horror than the Haunted show. But where it has more horror, it lacks in character and emotion imo. First of all because we simply spend less time w the characters (given the stories) and it's a bunch of bratty teens lol. Yes they are sick which makes it sad, but I dunno. If you seek for HH / Bly stuff this isn't really it. But if you are looking for a spooky horror show, this is nice so far. It also has more jump scares which is why -I think- people like it less compared to the other shows. More for casual horror fans I guess.
Jan 28, 2026 at 6:14 PM Just finished The Leftovers, which is arguably the most underrated series ever. So good and has an ending that is up there as one of the greatest. Character driven, great story and series that makes you think about life. Highly recommend.
Jan 28, 2026 at 8:59 PM Euphoria season 3 looks like it’s gonna be an absolute disaster. The show is completely different now from the first season in the worst way possible. I’m only watching for my fellow Roo/Rue.
Jan 29, 2026 at 3:37 PM Yeah bro Fallout season 2 has been good so far. I’m not sure if it’s as good as season 1, but I’d have to do a rewatch. Ella Purnell hasn’t missed in anything I’ve watched her in (looking forward to season 2 of her show called Sweetpea)
Jan 30, 2026 at 8:13 AM The Midnight Club So after becoming a Flanagan fan I decided to check this out too. It's kinda impossible for me not to compare it to the other shows. This is about a group of kids that are termimal, living in a group home where they spend their last days. You might think they are lying in bed all day puking but no they are smoking, drinking, breaking house rules just like other teenagers. The subject of death sure is present, and there's definitely focus on their suffering. But most of the screentime is about them telling eachother stories. Mostly horror but also Black Mirror type of stories. The stories however do reflect their own situations which is kinda cool. In between there's a storyline about a cult that claimed to have cured a dying kid. Which they of course investigate. In between the kids see ghosts and we have some out of nowhere jumpscares. Then we also follow their personal stories, especially the lead. Who does a great job btw. However, this also means, to me at least, that it get's a little boring at times. Boring in a way that it's hard to really get invested, like Hill House & Bly did perfectly. And House of Usher as well. The biggest issue however is that the season ended with the idea of a season 2. Which was also confirmed by Flanagan. Sadly that never happened. Flanagan did write (on his website) what his ideas were and how the story was supposed to end, which was kinda cool. To me a show with no (proper) conclusion automatically sucks a--- but I can't blame the maker in this case. Bly Manor and Hill House are both 10/10 for me, Usher a 8.5/10 and giving this a 6/10. Could have been higher had it not stopped Need to check Doctor Sleep and Geralds Game still!
Jan 30, 2026 at 8:18 AM Behind Her Eyes The best way to watch this (and I would recommend!) is going in as little as possible. It's about a woman getting into an affaire with her boss while also becoming friends with his wife. This seems very cliché and the first few episodes also kinda are (still good tho) but nothing is as it seems........ one could say the 'twist' is kinda lame and just to shock people but imo it was very surprising. 8.5/10
Jan 30, 2026 at 10:24 AM I looked up what’s playing at my local AMC, but nothing good seems to be out. Gonna have to wait a few weeks I guess. Went on Netflix but was just scrolling forever. Probably gonna get rid of it soon
