Oct 7, 2025 at 8:24 PM Tupacs 91-96 run was way better and bigger than Eminems ever was. Eminem was just a great rapper during that time. His personality has never been anything special. Tupac literally changed the course of history. A true martyr.
Oct 7, 2025 at 9:14 PM Not only biggest rap artist. But also biggest music artist from 2000-2010. sold the most records for any entire decade
Oct 7, 2025 at 9:55 PM I've only listened to a handful of Tupac songs and interviews but based on this interview alone my impression is that he's not the deep, serious thinker and person his hardcore fans hold him up as. Far from being some kind of daring revolutionary, his views on wealth inequality are not just childish but commonplace, even for his time. And color me black with skepticism that were he alive today he wouldn't be keeping the vast B*** of his wealth for himself and his family just like every other celebrity. On a positive note his rejection of the self-defeating victimhood mentality of conspiracy theories about "the illuminati" is refreshing: That said, Eminem was if anything an even shallower thinker. Ultimately he too has always been a simpleton but like Tupac his inner-depth and charisma found their greatest expression in his music. Both must have had strong spirits, so to speak, to sound the way they did. Rapping skill alone doesn't account for such powerful mic presences. (Not myself a superfan of Tupac though.)
