Oct 6, 2025 at 10:47 PM I've listened to 3 Taylor albums now, some I've liked more than others but I still think I'll never understand the chokehold she has on people. I don't want to rain on the parade for anyone who enjoys it I'm just consistently confused by the aggressive praise and her putting up MJ numbers. I know a lot of her fans put complaints on her up to misogyny but there's so many women who I listen to who write about similar experiences that I don't think that's it in my case. It's annoying when I can't join in on the fun and enjoyment other people can have with s--- lmao
Oct 6, 2025 at 10:59 PM It’s just the fact she is Very, Very relatable to women mostly. Even tho I been a swiftie since 2008 when Fearless was a blockbuster album. And her first several albums and hits were always about breakups and being the “Girl on the bleachers” so she has this not like the popular preppy girl vibe. She became synonymous with it so much that she had a cult following of suburban moms and white girls who like to be victimized in thier heads after a breakup. That’s not even me being mean, that’s how she was in the late 2000’s early 2010’s. Then she fully transition to pure pop, and gain another generation of Swifties. Basically like the female Justin Bieber, except she isn’t a vocalist. Just an over hyped lyricist that most of us thought would peak with her best album until then reputation. When folklore came out she gain another massive wave of fans with her pandemic era relatability era, add on the re-recordings that the general public felt sorry for her cuz she portrayed herself as the underdog being taken advantage of for her masters being held by “The Man”. This event is what really triggered her relatable factor to an unprecedented level, where she was able to re-release her own music. It gave her a Girl empowerment vibe. At this point she was 15 years in and outlasted other megastars like Katy Perry who fell off. The smartest thing she did was use her re-recording new clout and fandom increase to do the Era’s tour. That’s history, now the biggest tour of all time by a lot. It’s kinda crazy that she has the biggest tour ever and she can’t dance or perform at all, she has the biggest selling albums ever, but it’s the same fake deep poetry pop, and she has the biggest fandom that she cultivated off of pity, Relatability, and 2 generations of Millennials who grew up on her radio pop origins and her Gen Z swifties who are into the concepts of multiple era’s and Easter eggs she puts in all her lyrics. She like the MCU if it was a main pop girl. Honestly it’s impressive how she did this alll
Oct 6, 2025 at 11:29 PM Her worst album being the one to break records when apparently everyone doesn’t like it kind of says a lot…feel like a lot of people are hating just because other people are hating lol Hey I ain’t gonna lie imma be streaming Fate of Ophelia and the title track for the foreseeable future, at least those are fire haha
Oct 6, 2025 at 11:29 PM The same way people pretend to like certain music to fit in, people also pretend to hate certain music to fit in
Oct 6, 2025 at 11:52 PM Not defending the quality of the album at all, because I still do not think it was that good of an album, but an album doesn't just sell 3 million+ units first week anymore without people actively going out and buying/streaming. I get a lot of it was probably Swifties buying multiple variants...but TTPD had a similar amount of variants available the first week I believe, plus an entire other album worth of songs released 3 hours after the initial drop. How is this album selling over a million more units especially when Taymania has calmed down over the last year since the Eras Tour ended? If an album gained an extra million units for people being curious about how "a---" it is, then Revival or Carter 6 would've done 1.5 mil first week lol. There's def a large group of people loving the album, but claiming to hate it to fit in online.
Oct 7, 2025 at 12:12 AM Bro, I went to my target and there were these white girls lined out the door for the album. Not even kidding. Swiftie fandom is no joke still. I don’t know how Taylor keeps getting bigger. Never seen nothing like it
Oct 7, 2025 at 12:48 AM nah, Sab and Dua did really bad, the songs free falling on the charts was sad to see. Both dropped too soon. Labels need to be smarter.
