    IDK- Is He Real? Review

I did a bit of research before diving into this album, wanted to get the gist of who IDK was and what this album was all about.

I actually really enjoyed this album, the features are great Pusha, Tyler, JID. I also really liked the DMX skit! Was cool to hear him on there.

The production really shines on a lot of these songs, definitely one of the first things I noticed.

I actually find IDK sounds kinda Kanye esque rapping sometimes? Maybe its just me.

Anyways not every song is great but there's a handful of really good songs on here. I added a bunch of them to my playlist. This album was the most ive listened to before reviewing too, I gave it 5 listens instead of my usual 2 or 3.

The songs i added to my liked playlist were: 42 Hundred Choices, Alone, 24, Lilly, Porno, Digital and Michael what TF

    Score: 7/10

    IDK- Is He Real? Review:

On my first listen, I honestly couldn’t tell where one track ended and the next began. I thought it was just a series of transitions. Turns out, the songs are super short and before I knew it, I was already three quarters through.

I really enjoyed the first half of the album. Alone, 24 and Lilly make for a great 3 song stretch. 24 beat goes hard. The middle section dipped a bit for me (Porno, I Do Me… You Do You), but it picked back up. No Cable (great storytelling), Digital and Michael were all highlights

On my second and third listens, I actually started to appreciate Porno and some of the other tracks I initially thought were weaker.

Overall, this is a very solid project

    Thanks for sharing!

    8/10

Cheater! You were supposed to go in blind! Jk lol
There was actually a star-studded lineup here and they were all hidden. Pretty nice surprises even if some of them were just talking in skits
I agree with both of these things. The production is very cool for the most part. I hear Kanye in his rap delivery a lot, it’s a common comparison at this point
That’s how I was when I revisited it. I listened to it like 10 times in a row that night and I normally never listen to albums that much, it was pretty impressive. The fact that the album is so short with a lot of short, but catchy and/or interesting songs really helps it.
    Nice picks!
Thanks for the high score, I’m glad you enjoyed!
Yeah some of the transitions on this album are amazing and that really makes what is already a short album feel like it flies by even faster.
I can definitely agree with this. Alone through Lilly might be the best section on the album. 24’s beat is really the one I love to just blast on the car speakers. I Do Me… You Do You while it sounds nice seems like too much of an interlude or something. Digital is another song similar to 24 where it’s an absolute b-----r. I appreciate the No Cable shoutout because it definitely has great storytelling, that 2nd verse is the best verse on the whole album to me.
Yeah even the weaker tracks still have some redeeming qualities to them tbh
d---, this is probably the highest album score I’ve received from you. Thanks bro, I’m glad you as a harsher critic still enjoyed it

    RIPPER ROO’S RATING: 9/10

This is classic hip hop modernized. The album contains jazzy and soulful beats with flows that really emphasize the words being rapped. It’s a formula that works but enough creativity is here to standout and not feel like cosplaying the old days. There’s even good passion in the delivery of the lyrics. I don’t have much else to say. Great album @AOTWClub

John Michel & Anthony James - Egotrip Review:

I was a bit hesitant going in, mainly because the album was described as being made by a group of college kids and I have mixed feelings about jazz rap, but those thoughts disappeared within the first few tracks.

The production on this album is absolutely phenomenal. From start to finish, I was fully locked in and vibing.

Weird observation, on “Oneway” I was getting some serious T.I. vibes. Not sure if it was the overall energy but it definitely stood out in a good way. I also kept waiting for that weak track or turn that would k--- the momentum but it never came.

Lyrically, after two listens, nothing really blew me away. There were solid lines but most importantly, nothing corny or cringeworthy. The consistency is what impressed me most.

Favorite songs: Don't Save Me, Going Down, Take No More, Oneway, Confrontation, Nobody

This is my favorite album we've covered so far. In terms of overall sound, delivery and production, this is about as close to perfect as it gets. So i'm going with a perfect score on this one.

    10/10

Very glad you enjoyed it that much man, I figured everyone of any preference in the group can find something to enjoy about this project and I'm happy that's been true so far!

First we got Kendrick’s lyrics being used in court, now we have d4vd making songs about romantic homicides and all sorts of crazy s--- while actually potentially really doing the things he’s singing about. It’s absolutely cooked for artists bro. If this keeps up metaphorical lyrics could die entirely.

R&B singer who blew up on TikTok in 2022 with his song “Romantic Homicide”. I never really listened to him like that, I only heard his songs here and there. Apparently a bunch of his songs have to do with death and murder especially in relationships and it’s looking preeeeetty bad for him right now

s--- so crazy bro...I really gave him the benefit of the doubt last week when the news broke because he's on tour. Smh people be so weird bro, you blew up like crazy before the age of 20 and threw it all away because you can't keep your hands off kids. Even if he didn't k--- her, there's a chance they were dating when he was 18 and she was 12. f---ing disgusting. College aged kid with a 8th grader...

He dropped the Romantic Homicide video on her birthday too. The actresses used in videos looked like her. Dude was telling on himself the whole time.
