Jul 31, 2025 I think that MM's horror movie thread is really cool, so I'm interested to see what comedy movies/series/specials/podcasts y'all have seen recently
Jul 31, 2025 Watched this for the first time this week (Eddie Murphy's My GOAT) and I've been slowly picking away at this over the past few days
Jul 31, 2025 I usually stick to 2000’s and 90’s movies since I’m a millennial at heart. Jimmy Carrey is my goat
Jul 31, 2025 Real recognize real. That’s why the Truman show inspired the Eminem show. Dumb and dumber was what Debbie use to call me and my imaginary friend.
Aug 1, 2025 at 4:02 AM Can't beat throwing on a comedy here and there especially when bored some great comedy films that I like The Big Lebowski Wedding Singer Something about Mary East is East The Interview
Aug 6, 2025 at 6:41 PM I've hard nothing but great things about it. Glad to see a new comedy doing well
Aug 6, 2025 at 6:42 PM This might not fit the main point of the thread, but are there any c-m Town fans on this forum?
Aug 6, 2025 at 8:10 PM I've watched a bunch of clips and love all 3 of the guys but haven't sat down and given it a true listen. Closest podcast I listen to that comes close to it in terms of stupid bits is The Snark Tank
Aug 7, 2025 at 12:55 AM 2025 needs a new Ali G series or movie. Everyone pretty much knows who he is though so the bit is harder to pull off. Ali G in China. Go.
Aug 7, 2025 at 6:09 AM Very few comedy movies that are actually funny as it doesn’t translate well in a contained 2 hour slot on a film. For example ; The Inbetweeners UK series is one of the best comedies of all time but the movies are bad. Peep Show is the goated series for me though and Office UK is right there behind it.
Aug 7, 2025 at 6:56 AM One of the first times I disagree with one of your takes bro. So which comedy movies do you actually like? For me if it's way to over the top cheesy I can't get with it at all.
Aug 7, 2025 at 7:17 AM Find most American comedy movies like that. I think there is way better American and Uk comedy series that are clear, due to being more grounded and more character driven. Always Sunny, People Who Do Absolutely Nothing, Office UK, USA, Trailer Park Boyz, Seinfield, Peep Show, Inbetweeners. List is endless. Movies like Happy Gilmore, Wedding Crashers, American Pie, Step Brothers and Hangover movies that labelled as classics and way over the top humour just doesn’t do anything for me and I’ve sat with a deadpan face for most of them. Few movies I do like are and Tropic Thunder and Groundhog Day from top of my head.
Aug 7, 2025 at 7:55 AM I get what you're saying and I agree to an extent but I like the ferrels, rogans and francos too much. Here's a good one I watched last week, Notting Hill. Bit of a romcom but Roberts smile was 10/10 and Grants awkwardness only reminds me of a confident @Marsh LOL.
Aug 7, 2025 at 8:32 AM Watched the first Rush Hour for the first time yesterday. I was honestly kinda underwhelmed. It wasn’t bad, but I wasn’t laughing nearly as much as I expected to
