Jun 22, 2025 at 12:14 AM For the first time since NOVEMBER (wtf I can’t believe it’s been that long), here is DiggleDogg’s ALBUM pick for @AOTWClub ! If you follow the hip hop space, you probably know that this most recent week was the anniversary of an event in recent hip hop history that a lot of people remember exactly where they were and what they were doing when they heard the news, and that’s why I feel like it was the right time to finally select… ? - XXXTENTACION ? was the final project from XXXTENTACION before he was fatally shot and killed on June 18th, 2018, which was 7 years ago this previous Wednesday. I have been interested to see how this forum would feel about this album for awhile now, and now felt like the right time to bring this to the club. This album has helped me through a lot, and I love going back to it every now and then even if I don’t listen to it as much as I used to. A lot of good memories with this one, but also lots of bad memories that it has helped me through. I feel like there is at least something here for everybody, even if you don’t enjoy the project as a whole! Can’t wait to see what yall think, and RIP ---! @Justin Trudeau
Jun 22, 2025 at 2:57 AM @AOTWClub @DiggleDogg69 has posted his album ? By XXXTENTACION JT: 6/10 Alnis: 6/10 Wreckless: 7/10 I will tally up Clipse- h--- Hath No Fury on Thursday
Jun 22, 2025 at 12:40 PM I haven’t heard this rapper’s music yet, so I’m curious to see what it’s like.
Jun 22, 2025 at 2:13 PM Are you obsessed with being depressed and wanna k--- yourself? If so its a 10/10
Jun 22, 2025 at 2:42 PM Not particularly, but if there are some effective methods on the album i'm interested.
Jun 22, 2025 at 2:54 PM f---ing love that song lmaooo especially rn during summer. But he barely is on that song himself right? Haven't really listened to the rest though so lets see!
Jun 22, 2025 at 3:14 PM He has the third verse which is good, but most of the song is made up by the features. I saved it to a playlist a few years ago, and I had completely forgotten it was an X song until I opened my phone lmao
Jun 22, 2025 at 3:41 PM ?- XXXTENTACION review Okay so when @DiggleDogg69 posted this my initial reaction was "great can't wait to hand out a 2/10" I still think XXXTENTACION was(i originally wrote is, forgot hes a deaddy) a f---ing loser fa---- just for the record After 3 listens today I don't actually mind this album, the production is very good. Hes not a terrible rapper hes just not what id usually listen too. I hate when he tries to add rock into the songs, he sounds like absolute s---. He sounds much more affective when hes depressed sounding and ready to blow his brains out lol. The songs I like the best are: moonlight, numb and infinity Shout out to the Spanish song its actually kinda good Im gonna give this album a 6/10 due to the good production and its much better than I expected @AOTWClub
Jun 22, 2025 at 4:24 PM Glad you enjoyed it enough to give it a 6/10! The production comment is interesting to me, I didn’t even think about this but now that you said something I’m curious if people will agree or if it feels dated to them. Certain music from the “SoundCloud” era already feels dated just due to the style that it is, but I feel like X in particular stood out enough to where it sounded different and out there. We have similar favorite tracks as well! I’d just add Alone Pt 3, Floor 555, and Remedy Thanks for the review!
Jun 23, 2025 at 3:10 AM Might have to hold myself back on the X review or I’ll go off on a crazy rant/tangent
Jun 24, 2025 at 12:58 AM @AOTWClub Xxxtentacion - ? Hated this guy at first but he grew on me a bit over the years. Its a very versatile project and he was very talented. Its not mind-blowing and I wouldn't call it a classic or anything, just a decent project. I could see how a depressed broccoli haired zoomer with daddy issues would vibe with this heavy though. 6/10
Jun 24, 2025 at 1:14 PM @AOTWClub I’m always a bit skeptical of rappers who came up during the mumble rap era, but this album turned out to be more versatile and different than I expected. It definitely stands out from the trap music of that time. The intro felt a bit cringeworthy for some reason, I’m not entirely sure why. I also agree with the critique that the rock inspired tracks (like Floor 555 and Going Down) were among the weakest moments on the album. But beyond that, it holds up surprisingly well. Favorite tracks were Moonlight, Numb, Infinity, and the Spanish song, which was very catchy. Overall, I enjoyed the album. Thanks for sharing 7/10 Broccoli hair approved
Jun 24, 2025 at 3:29 PM Glad to be one of the zoomers that doesn’t have a head made out of broccoli. Shout out DRAM tho
