Anytime someone disses anyone these days people like you automatically say it’s for clout. Then those same people b---- and moan that hip hop is dying while dismissing competition, one of the very things that keeps hip hop alive, and deem it “clout chasing”. There’s a reason why 15 years later you’re still gooning over Eminem’s Recovery, the pop rap album that started Eminem’s downfall and turned him from an authentic artist to nothing more than a soulless brand. People said 50Cent killed Hip Hop back in 2005. People said Soulja Boy did in 2007.
Old Heads even said Tupac was too commercialized and ruin hip hop. They said the same thing about N.W.A in the 80’s.

Same story different decade, whenever a rapper goes too pop and becomes to big it’s the same s---. People said Drake did even tho he only made it bigger to a younger audience. Yes Drake is definitely pop, but he was the face of rap of the 2010’s like it or not. You can’t say he killed it when he quite literally made it bigger. He a studio gangster. Come on, dude, be real. Just because I insulted Eminem doesn’t mean you have to post this nonsense response to me. I am a bigger fan of modern hip hop through and through but even I can admit older mainstream hip hop was generally more creative and less poppy/generic than a lot of mainstream hip hop has been in the past 10 years. Eminem is all about competition and yet these MFers still try to downplay competition lmao it’s so r-----ed.

I never said Drake killed hip hop. I’m not one of these people who believe hip hop ever died. I was literally dissing that idea. What I was saying is that people who have the same mindset of Drake and Marsh could’ve almost killed it if they wanted to. Hip Hop isn’t a popularity contest or about the charts. Drake making it bigger and being the face of it literally led to this period of “hip hop’s death” that Marsh complains about despite him riding Drake all the time.

The obsession with popularity and charts at the expense of originality and creativity (spearheaded by rappers like Drake, Migos, Lil Baby, etc.) led to the oversaturation of hip hop which is why it doesn’t chart as much anymore. But hip hop not charting or not being as popular commercially does not equal death. It goes back to what I said earlier… hip hop is not a popularity contest. It’s not about fame and numbers. It’s just that these wack, fake MFers and pop fans cosplaying as hip hop fans tried to make it that way. It’s these people who think they are record label executives personally getting money from this music or something. If anything hip hop getting so popular is what attracted all these lame people anyway.

Hip Hop is about self-expression. Hip Hop is about authenticity. Hip Hop is about competition. You gotta say s--- with your whole chest. We have Drake f---ing with that by suing over rap disses and that’s some of the most anti hip hop s--- ever. And these pop fans try to f--- with self-expression, authenticity, and competition by calling it all clout chasing, not realizing they are just massively projecting. These pop fans might secretly want clout in the back of their minds since they are so obsessed with charts and popularity, but don’t project that onto rappers. Pusha T clearly doesn’t give a f--- about clout or fame and anyone with a little bit of hip hop knowledge would know that.

Marsh and these other pop fans don’t have hip hop knowledge. Doesn’t matter if he’s old or not. They are arrogant f---s who talk on things they know nothing about. These people don’t belong in hip hop period. I’m glad people like him think that hip hop is dead. I’m glad that he hates that rappers like Kendrick Lamar are shining. Maybe eventually he’ll get so bored he’ll shut the f--- up about hip hop for good. I’m glad that these MFers think it’s all bots. But the ironic thing about that is thinking hip hop is dead is the most bot opinion you can possibly have.

This is just fact. Every generation people literally say this. This ain’t a new concept. People say hip hop is dead like every 5 years. Which makes no sense considering it only became the top selling genre in 2017. So I just find it funny how people always aim the criticism at Drake, when he alone is a major reason for Hip hop being the most successful genre in music of the 2010’s. People listen to what they wanna hear. That’s My opinion, has nothing to do with you. Not everyone is trying to attack you. Lmfao
