Just finished listening, it's good but nothing outstanding, Dre's production over this is super clean and just sounds incredible

There were a few standout tracks to me, those being Hard Knocks, Last Dance With Mary Jane, Pressure, Fire and Sticcy Situation, all great but I feel like there's a handful of tracks where Snoop is just kinda yapping which didn't really do much for me

I wouldn't say there were any bad songs, there are a couple on the weaker end for me like Gunz n Smoke (I really expected a lot more from this track), Shangri-La, Now or Never and The Negotiator

Probably a 7/10 on first listen

I honestly didn't like her contribution on Falling Up but she sounds great on this album

Not good at all, but not horrible. Just everything about it is forgettable.

One spin in so this is likely to change a fair amount on the future...
    Pros:
A well orchestrated album. It flows nicely, it's not a complete mess of sounds as some of his other albums.

    Definitely a matured sound

    Cons:
No bangers. Where's that iconic Westcoast sound?
Em rapping like an absolute c--- gobbler again

    Overall; 6/10. Didn't meet expectations.

I see a lot of you shi--ing on this but i feel like nits the best presence snoop has had on the mic in a really long time. I like sticky situation alot, jelly kills last dance, kinda sucks the best part of gunz and smoke is the biggie sample for the chorus

Thought this album would be terrible after hearing comments on here earlier

It's not amazing but Jesus christ the amount of over reacting is hilarious

    I need a doctor
    Kush
Compton had quite a few producers
Scott Storch has helped him a lot

I'm sure there's more. What I mean is that he makes people think all of these are just him. I personally haven't really heard him thank these people or even give a shout out. But not doing this, it gives the impression that he wants people to think these are all him. I personally feel like he's more of a mixer than a beat producer.

Even when Kush and INAD first came out EVERYONE knew they were made by Khalil and Alex da kid, nobody thought they were Dre beats and Dre wasn't even credited as a producer on neither of those tracks.
Compton has a lot of different producers on it and they were all credited for their work
"Helped" is a right word when it comes to Scott. He was a keyboard player on 2001, not a producer yet. He is officially credited on all of the songs he worked on the album.

The only example of him not giving a credit in his post-Death row days that we know of was when he didn't mention DJ Quik doing drums on In da Club

That’s the internet for you. Listening now…. And it’s not bad. Even the Em & 50 track is decent. Rap fans just complaining per usual

It's like people get off calling things bad or "mid"

Like it makes them and their opinion superior

It was a soundtrack anyway, it would have been even worse if it was a Dre album

I think the word “mid” is funny, and I like using it. I used to hate it because it was overused but now I just find the irony in it. It’s not that serious to actually come off as if most people who say it think they are superior. It’s just another word for “mediocre” or “average”. It’s not bad or trash
