Jun 17, 2023 I guess if you're specifically putting the label artist on them yeah, I'm sure there's plenty of songs I listened to and loved that wasn't written by the person, at least fully. It is nicer when they actually can write though, just like if someone performs well live, it's not a complete deal breaker for me but it really ups my respect and how much time I want to invest listening to them.
Jun 17, 2023 This is what separates the artists from the pop artists lol They should never be compared because it’s completely different skillsets, that’s also partly why numbers arguments fall flat, among other aspects eg: content, marketing etc.

Jun 17, 2023 Pop music is a genre designed for commercial music, there’s pop artists that exist as brands with the machine backing them & producing them. Those aren’t legitimate artists who are writers, musicians, self-made etc. An artist making a popular song doesn’t make them a pop artist.
