Jul 14, 2016 If I was more aware of hindsight and the various directions rap has taken since it's inception I'd probably have a more clear idea, personally 80s rap besides a few exceptions really isn't my cup of tea. I'm a big fan of the Shiny Suit Era and that was considered to be a bad time for rap, h--- people hated Dipset when I was listening and growing up with them. Retrospect is a funny thing indeed. Edit: I find the biggest issue is this, what era of rap fans is the worst?
Jul 15, 2016 Fact is, the answer to this question is going to change all the time. I couldn't stand the dance rap era at the time but now I can look back and enjoy it for what it's worth. I can't stand the phase were going through now with the mumbled speech, beats that sound the same and singing auto tune s---. But that doesn't mean I won't look back in 10 years and appreciate it. Prob coz something else will be worse!
Jul 15, 2016 yo you serious anything past 08 lessened in quality? I guess that's when you got too old for new music. Cause last time I checked GKMC, MBDTF, and TPAB are all post 08
Jul 15, 2016 and you cant say that those arent quality projects. Maybe you don't like the substance or the music itself, but you gotta respect the artistry and articulation of those projects
Jul 17, 2016 You misread me g. Not everything post 08 is bad. In fact all those are masterful, but for the most part music has been incredibly watered down repetitive and trend riding since then.
