Chad, reread my posts. Then read them again. Trust me, I've covered all this. You're a teacher or something right - step it up.

I'm not diving into a bunch of pages right now, have to eat, but since this is your initial reaction - I agree, somewhat. Though Stallone really shined in Creed and Straight Outta Compton was about a group not like one person.

Can't comment on Idris Elba but his movie looks really good.

I haven't watched Concussion, Beats of No Nation, or Straight Outta Compton, or Creed so I don't really have a horse in this race.

I did see where statistically there is no bias and that the awards are in line with the percentage of black actors and actresses since 2000 at least. I don't really care about the Oscars at all. It's pretty clearly a politically charged and heavily commercial institution.

I watched a lot of older stuff. Here's what I have seen and I still feel like I haven't watched anything. I have a watchlist of over 70 movies from 2015 that I'll probably never get to.

imo Beasts of No Nation is better than a lot of movies on that list (out of the ones I've seen) watch that first if you're planning on it

@captain awesome, the more I think about this, the more I come to the conclusion that you're still wrong. There are many reasons why a movie may not be nominated, and racism is one of the possible reasons, however, it's far from the only reason. Jumping to that without actually knowing anything about the academy is pretty unfair.

Also, about the first black director nominated argument you were making.....in 2013 the youngest actress to ever be nominated for an Oscar was Quvenzhane Wallis. She is black, and not in a movie about race that "makes Liberals feel good". This flies in the face of your theory about the academy only like certain black roles.

And how would not awarding Selma fall into your view of the Hollywood elite? Republicans and Democrats were both just tweeting about MLKs birthday. If anything, this would be the perfect film for Liberals to rally behind.

Also, what is your definition of racism?
