Jun 30, 2023 Okay so the leaked lyrics were real but they sound fine in the song, mfers just took it outta context and made fun of it like they try to do with most lyrics (news flash: most songs sound weird if you just speak them out). Also, the song is great and so is the video. This is her best vocal performance yet. It sounds different enough from SOUR to me. Not sure what drastic change people were expecting lmao. The vocal delivery alone is pretty different, so is the instrumental and the way it switches up. I had a feeling this would be a ballad but I expected it to be a rock song. It’s cool how the song transitioned into something that’s not really a ballad. Glad she subverted expectations with that. I can already see the think pieces about how this album isn’t going to be as good as Sour because people have a boner for overhyping an artist’s old work. I’ll say it now, this is one of her best songs. Ain’t no way mfs gonna have rose-tinted glasses for 2 year old music.
