    old hip hop ight. its not my cup of tea (though hov's top 1 op foh with that blasphemous s---) but i get why oldheads would think its the best era. those close minded dudes who claim that only that type of rap is real rap and future, thug etc. arent need to be put down tho

    I've listened to mostly old hip-hop to understand it's history. It's the only genre where any style can be incorporated and sound as dope as s---... I like old hip-hop because if it weren't for The Chronic there wouldn't be YG and G-Funk. If it weren't for DJ Shadow then there wouldn't be Future and if it weren't for A Tribe Called Quest then there wouldn't be any socially conscious/dope rappers like Mos Def/Yaslin Bey.

    Respect your roots, but don't think that the roots are the only pure thing. Future is as hip-hop as Q-Tip.

    DJ Shadow is sample-based trip hop I don't see the resemblance to Metro's beats at all tbh

    I still enjoy hip hop from the 1980's to the early 2000's, but the people who think the music for those eras are the only time it was good are annoying to talk to at times.

    It's good to be progressive but if you can't f--- with dust at least respect it and don't speak about it since you aren't a part of it. Just keep your opinion to yourself, I'm not a big fan but I don't call out others seriously. I feel bad for the dust heads who force there opinions on you cause no one likes there music. Lil Uzi Vert is real af for actually speaking out against rapping over the old beats though since it isn't his style.
