Aug 5, 2016 gotcha, I liked parts of it... I did think the last fight scene was wack... but I did like Ben as Batman... I didn't like the whole Superman dying s---.... idk... I guess cause growing up I loved the Batman movies and the cartoons that I just except it... but I do wish the build up was better. The Dark Knight Trilogy ruined all the future batmans for me I think..
Aug 6, 2016 Saw it last night. Will Smith was the best part of the film even if he was just playing himself. Margot did a really nice job. Viola Davis was acting as if her life depended on it. Leto was fine, but everything about him was super overhyped going into the film. Screenplay wasn't good. Lots of pacing issues and it was very tonally jarring at moments. Overall, it wasn't AWFUL and it also wasn't good. Doesn't deserve a 30% on RT. More like a 55%. It was very mediocre or average. Personally, middle-of-the-line is the worst something can be in my opinion, but oh well. Soundtrack wasn't bad. Movie was fine. 5.5/10
Aug 6, 2016 Suicide Squad definitely has its flaws. It's pretty obvious where the cuts were as the editing and pacing were an issue. The plot and villain were also very generic. That being said I believe it's definitely the most enjoyable DCEU film thus far. It's up to Wonder Woman to sway the critics.
Aug 6, 2016 If I had run the DC Universe, I would've done, - Man Of Steel (2013) - Wonder Woman (2015) - The Flash (2016) - Aquaman (2016) - Batman Vs. Superman (2017) (Without the Justice League shoehorned) - Suicide Squad (2017) - Batman (2018) - Justice League (2018) - Man Of Steel 2 (2020) (take a year off to let the movies breathe) - Green Lantern (2020) - Wonder Woman II (2021) - Cyborg (2021) - The Flash II (2022) - Aquaman II (2022) - Batman Beyond (2023) - Justice League II (2023)
Aug 6, 2016 Leto was out of his element as The Joker, I really wanted him to be great. Will smith and Margot Robbie were great, as were the rest of the cast really. First half of the movie was like a 4 in my eyes, second half a 7. Not a terrible movie at all, better than Batman vs Superman
Aug 6, 2016 First 20 minutes I hated it quite a bit, I thought I was in for torture. But then it got better, significantly so, and it stayed there for the rest of the time. So overall I'd say I liked it a lot. But I love BvS so I know people who take my opinion with a grain of salt anyway because of that lol
Aug 7, 2016 I wanted to like this movie so much....it absolutely frustrates me that the stellar portrayals of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and Joker are brought down by this absolute train wreck of a movie. The plot was so bad I can't understand how it made it through development without someone stopping them and not allowing it to go any further. In my opinion literally everything besides Will, Robbie, Leto and the soundtrack just sucks. Disappointed.
Aug 7, 2016 saw SS. Most of the characters were hella interesting & well casted, the action was dope, backstories were great, soundtrack was god tier, i liked the humor too. had fun watching this. But there were a few things i wasn't too crazy about: hated the swath of underutilized characters. like Katana, Captain Boomerang, that weirdo reptile dude. there was a lot more that could've been done with them, but they were just..there, as pretty unremarkable characters. Movie should've been a lil longer so we could've seen them be fleshed out a lil more. Oh & yuck at Joker. hated the whole stylish badass psycho thing the director/writers/whoeverthefuck were going for, was embarassingly tryhard; he was a total cringeball. hated every scene with him in it. Also thought the plot was wonky, its def a noticeable downside, but it didn't destroy the movie. But overall i liked SS, flawed in spots but also has hella strong qualities & the overall experience is fun & entertaining; feel like that balances it out. 7/10 very good.
Aug 7, 2016 I wonder how this would've done at the box office if it actually got good reviews “Suicide Squad” smashed records, scoring a colossal $135.1 million debut despite suffering some of the worst reviews of the year. That sets a new high-water mark for an August launch, lapping “Guardians of the Galaxy’s” $94.3 million bow. It also ranks as a new personal best for star Will Smith, trumping “I Am Legend’s” $77.2 million debut in 2007. The action spectacle is resonating with foreign crowds. “Suicide Squad” earned $132 million overseas from 57 territories, bringing its global total to more than $267 million
Aug 7, 2016 Hopefully this means we get a spinoff of sequel where the good aspects of this movie get a chance to flourish...
Aug 7, 2016 There was already talks/plans for a sequel before it actually came out. Don't remember where I read that but pretty sure it was from an interview with some director, producer or something along those lines.
Aug 7, 2016 I think there are talks of Harley spin-off. I would like them to do a more thorough backstory for her and The Joker.
Aug 7, 2016 This movie was so disappointing. The picks for actors were fine, but the script writing was just downright awful. The cringe was so strong at some parts.
Aug 8, 2016 Just saw this, and I liked it, but holy s--- was it all over the place Really noticed the whole movie trailer company re-edit thing in the beginning tho lmao
