In 1989 Patrick Purdy used an assault rifle in an attack where he shot 40 elementary school children (in Stockton California at a School that was predominantly Vietnam refugees... most of them survived).

That was back when we had more responsible leaders... so, first there was a California Assault Rifle Ban... then a National Assault Rifle Ban.


The National Assault Rifle Ban lasted ten years. In those ten years there was one major mass school shooting... Columbine.


I know it's "not your opinion" that gun control has anything to do with school shootings... because you are being willfully obtuse.


The reality is that there thousands upon thousands of assault rifles available with modifications that give anyone the ability to k--- many people at once... ao, that's what is happening now.



In 2008 on the Federal level you could carry guns in less places than you can now. Obama hasn't passed any gun control.


Yet, the reality is the gun industry has painted him as a "gun grabber" and has uses the rallying cry that "Obama is gonna take your guns!"

Even if your wrong opinion leads you to believe otherwise (which I don't even think you actually believe).

Ronald Reagan wasn't President or the Governor of California... he was at home with Nancy eating jelly beans.

Reagan was President when a career criminal Aryan drug addict bought a knock off AK 47... Bush41 was President-Elect when he used it to s---t almost 40 east asian Americans in California.


I'll give GWHB credit for signing the Assault Rifle Importation Ban that reduced the amount of assault rifles in America.

Reagan did nothing to help.


I'll also condemn George HW Bush's son, George W. Bush for letting the National Assault Rifle Ban expire and letting this catastrophic mass shootings to continue.

I'm saying that he hasn't been able to accomplish anything on gun control.

At the same time the gun industry and the way too powerful special interest group, the National Rifle Association, have been successful in wrongfully painting him as a "gun grabber."



If he was a big as a "gun grabber" as Bill Clinton or George WH Bush... we wouldn't have had as many and as deadly mass shootings as we have.

It's stupid, but it would have also blocked everyone on no fly lists, which includes non-violent everyday citizens for random and vague reasons. That was the argument and although I understand it, the risk isn't worth it.
