Grubauer gets the call up from Hershey this morning and earns his first playoff win in his first playoff game. So massive to get that for him, and obviously massive for the team.

Feel much more confident now. If we play half as good as we did tonight we will win the series.

thoughts on today:

pretty huge, damning loss for the islanders. they've been blowing leads all year, halak has been shaky when it counts, and both things happened today--with a b-level prospect in net for washington. at least they're at home for the next two.

it's cool their adrenaline carried them through in the third or whatever, but if weber is out for more than a game, nashville is done.

andrew hammond looks out of his depth.

calgary-vancouver is going to be phenomenal.

So the NHL couldnt space all these games out today?

I get no Noon-ish ET game because of the west coast, but one of these games could have been at 5:30(in between NO/GS and Bulls/Bucks games). Now Im gonna have to try to watch both hockey games, the NBA game and Sox/O's at the same time.

Just started watching but saw the Rangers are down 3-1 and were booed off the ice after the 2nd. Are they playing that bad or is Pittsburgh just stepping up? I wouldn't mind Pittsburgh winning this one just to make the series more interesting.

If the Oilers can go out in free agency and bring in Marc Methot, Zbynek Michalek, and Mike Green this team would be a Cup contender next year. They will have about $15 million in cap space this offseason with Justin Schultz being the only guy they need to re-sign. Move either Fayne or Nikitin to open up a little more room and that defense would be very good.

WPG is not a Wild fan I'm pretty sure, can't remember who his team is though. I think Winnipeg or the Rangers but not positive.

Every game today should be good, really hope Nashville and Ottawa win.

@asvdawg McDavid will be fine.

Caps/Isles OT now... forgot how awful this feels. Fully expecting to lose as we just aren't bringing it today. Good third for the most part, just not sure if we can keep it up. Isles had a heavy push back after we tied it.

If I'm Edmonton, I start the year with:
Hall-Nugent Hopkins-Yakupov
Pouliot-McDavid-Eberle

Let McDavid easy his way into the NHL and don't put too much pressure on him to start. The only thing this top 6 is missing is a solid power forward that will make life h--- for opposing goalies. Matt Beleskey would be an interesting pickup for them. He could take Pouliot's spot on the 2nd line and have a 3rd line of Pouliot-Lander/Roy-Purcell.
