We wouldn’t even have to purposefully tank to land the #1 overall pick. Start Tyrod for the year as a solid bridge qb and just roll with the punches.

If past actions tell me anything, we’ll end up taking a defensive player with the #1 overall pick lol.

Mills would have been a first rounder next year in that weak a--- QB class. Unless some QB comes through with a Burrow/Wilson like rise, that class sucks

5 qbs will be hyped up to go top 10 again and it will seem like the best qb class ever, this is gonna happen every year for the foreseeable future now

It’s crazy this is becoming a trend while teams simultaneously are giving the said QBs the shortest leashes ever. Like, how do the Jets just give up on Darnold at 23 years old after giving him next to nothing to succeed with? s--- is crazy

What typically happens is one or two QBs who haven’t really done much show out & play incredible junior/senior years. Joe Burrows, Zach Wilson, Mac Jones etc. I’m sure we’ll see one or two do it this year too.

If you don’t have a franchise QB, nothing else matters. Darnold may still have a shot at being a good QB in the NFL but he’s shown absolutely nothing to suggest he is so far. Why take a gamble on a QB who’s shown minimal signs of competence when you can draft a top QB prospect + keep them on a rookie contract?

It’s not typical at all for 5 qbs to go top 15 lol but it’s about to be. And many hall of fame qb’s showed no signs of competance in their first few seasons then suddenly got it and took off. Brett Favre and Drew Brees would have been out of the league before they got good in this era.

Teams are slowly catching on to the value of QBs. Are willing to take more chances on them which is smart imo! Still a bit ways to go though see: Carolina & Denver passing on Justin Fields. I think Brees & Favre showed promised within that first 2-3 year window. Brees ranked 15th in EPA per play after first 3 seasons in the league which isn’t spectacular but also far from horrendous. I think Darnold, once adjusting for eras, has played notably worse than those two did to start their careers.

Ultimately, I think teams are learning to avoid the mistakes of keeping around sub par or mediocre QBs in hopes of them eventually being able to put it together. Bengals made that mistake with Dalton, Bears with Cutler, Panthers with Cam etc. Best way to improve your football team is to get a better QB. Teams are becoming more aggressive there.

I didn’t say it was dumb for so many QBs to go, it depends on the situations. I would have rather the Jags had taken a QB in the first round every single year until they hit since Blaine Gabbert than have gone thru what we just did.

I won’t agree in Darnold or any analytics worship though lol. You have to also factor in that he played for almost certainly the worst head coach in recent history who had control of the offense and play calling and is notorious for squandering talent and having players thrive once they leave him. He was in one if the worst imaginable situations last year but he’s absolutely loaded and with much better coaches around him now so we’ll see.

Doesn't mean s--- if the o-line still sucks to high heaven. Plus I'm still weary about burrow's leg.

Overall it was same old same old what the heck let's see if it finally sticks from the bengals. Fingers crossed as always.

I think Vegas would throw the kitchen sink for Rodgers, like even over pay if that is such a think for a player like him

Is Rodgers for sure getting traded? I thought GB said it's not gonna happen? Anyway, if he does I would bet on it being Vegas

Green Bay is determined to keep GM...they don’t want this turning into a Players league so they will force Rodgers to retire or trade him away for a big package

Id be willing to be more optimistic about Darnold if he showed…something in his first 3 years lol. I mean Baker Mayfield played really well as a rookie on a Browns team that went 1-15 the year before. Ryan Tannehill played pretty well on a Dolphins team had been bad for what seemed like forever. You have to show something! I just think QB is too important to bet on a guy that has consistently performed like a bottom of the barrel starter for 3 years. That’s not to say Darnold can’t still pan out but it’s just not a bet I’d be willing to take. Especially when you have the opportunity to draft a top QB prospect.

Can’t wait for Tim Tebow to receive the most hype out of any player for this upcoming season only to not accomplish anything significant. Dude is just a personality at this point.

Maybe if they use him like the Saints used Taysom Hill then I could see some good results. But just as a TE? Dude is gonna get flattened play after play.

Imagine being a legit TE who trained year after year and played well enough to get to the NFL, only to have your starting job taken because your head coach wants to play favorites.

I can see it now......Tebow has one 10 yard reception/good block and Skip Bayless is gonna call him the “locked in MVP” with about 3-4 made up phrases thrown in there too.
