Absolutely loving this right now. Huge step up from KD1 imo. I know its cliched to say but there's something about the way he paints a picture so effortlessly... There've been glimpses of it on his past few albums but this s--- is taking me back to Stillmatic days. Also holy mother of god MS LAURYN HILL. Jesus christ.

Nas sounded sketchy and lost for the most part on NASIR. His verses for a while after seemed more conversational, relaxed, arguably lazy at points. I thought he was shedding some high-risk moves like a veteran wrestler, but he really showed up to rap on this. That 'Nobody' track is great.

This album is f---ing insane. Hit-Boy's beats are like a silk cloth i'd wrap myself in forever.
    So f---ing smooth.
The album goes into another dimension altogether when that Store Run hits AND THAT MAN WENT APE s--- TILL THE END.
Mad as f--- that Future and Don Toliver delivered such minor contributions smh.
Future would have snapped on 40 Ride.
    Album of the year.

what does Nas mean by "the king's disease"? The king's disease is gout. Back in the day kings were just fat f---s who drank wine and ate fatty gamy meat all day and never had to walk or do anything cuz they were carried everywhere so their ankles got swollen from built up fat crystals.

I think he means a few things but on KD1 he straight up talks about treating gout so I think he got it and liked the phrase.

How many times does Nas mention “delta” on Brunch on Sunday’s? Nasir a confirmed Wuhan virus insider and definitely part of the Illuminati. Wait till MGT hears about this! Her head is gonna spin so hard and it’s gonna be a great new CrossFit workout for her!

This album is really good man. Nas and Hit Boy both did their thing on this. First part sounds like a warm up now. This is album 13, that's crazy, a true GOAT discog.

To Nas: His people are queens and kings. To him, his fellow black men and women are kings and queens. Just like white/muslim/hindus/sikhs/asian people are held in a very high regard by their own people. He holds his race as a starting point of humanity as its a very common belief that all humans first originated in Africa, the homeland of "black community" as per many.

And he talks about racism, infidelity, financial and creative setbacks, ignorance/erasing of black hisory, lack of unity, ignorance/hardships that the women of the black community go through.

This could be his own idea of "King's Disease'. That his own fellow kings and queens face in form of aforementioned things.

It's a great description of his position in the genre too. He's a vet who has succeeded, become a king, and now faces new challenges.
