How does he write like this? Personifying beef making it appear to be executed so effortlessly.

I'm the words that get misinterpreted
I'm the get back, I'm the first to hit
I'm the worst of it, lurkin' on your premises
    I am your nemesis
Parents of every slain rapper wish I didn't exist
But I'm alive and I thrive on your ignorance
I'm a thousand foot fence that keep you from getting rich

Why it's always gotta be resortin' to me?
I ain't asked for this power
It's torture, it forced me to see
People drainin' themselves, some pull off some horrible deeds
Rumors turnin' into a monster, lies always mislead
By the time you hear what somebody said
It's stretched out, they expanded and made it worse
    Now you all stressed out
You wish you got it straightened out
    But it's too far gone
From "Who Shot Ya?" to "Hit Em Up" to Tupac's song

This has the potential to be my favourite Nas album, only time will tell.

I'm loving that Nas is getting his flowers and that people still recognize and praise real hip-hop.
It's easy to distinguish the difference between real hip-hop and this new s---. I'm all for innovation in music, but nothing beats this era of hip-hop.

Wasn't a fan of either King's Disease albums but I loved Magic, I should give them another shot.

    Nas fans....

I'm going to admit something here, I became a proper fan from Hip Hop is Dead. I was late to the party. Doesn't mean I don't rank him, I absolutely do.

But how would you rank his albums?

Can't stop bumping KDIII. I think this will be one of those albums that I genuinely go back to years down the line. I really enjoyed 1 & 2 but I think I've spun 3 twice the amount of both of them put together.

I'm going to follow @Worm 's advice and spin the earlier albums to see if I'm seeing things differently but right now this feels like a classic. And it's been a loooong time since I've used that term.

I’m stuck between Dawn FM and Mr. Morale being my #1 album of the year. I’ll decide in December which one I like better

Honestly there's no single rap album that stands out to me as RAOTY so far but there's been a loooooot of good stuff (in no order):

Mavi - Laughing So Hard it Hurts
    Cochise - THE INSPECTION
Flo Milli - You Still Here, Ho ?
Vince Staples - Ramona Park Broke My Heart
    NoCap - Mr. Crawford
    Latto - 777
    Pusha T - It's Almost Dry
    Yeah - 2 Alive / Lyfe
    Earl Sweatshirt - SICK!
Drakeo the Ruler - Keep the Truth Alive
Drake - Honestly Nevermind / Her Loss
    Leikeli47 - Shape Up
    ILOVEMAKONNEN - Everything is Trash
    YG - I GOT ISSUES
Kendrick Lamar - Mr Morale & the Big Steppers

    edit forgot:
Freddie Gibbs - Soul Sold Separately
    Chief Keef - 4NEM

I'd say my fav album this year isn't even rap tbh, it's DawnFM

Not to answer for him but check out come home the kids miss you by jack harlow. I think that’s definitely AOTY contender. Amazing beats, flows, rhymes, and story. I don’t see a lot of people talking about it here

You probably right, I’m in the honeymoon period right now. Illmatic I always place in its own universe but the other projects always had a few duds & even some of the great concepts had issues with production & this one knocks it out of the park on that front. But yeah, I’ll see how I feel after the dust settles.
