Kid Ink. Simply off the strength of his tattoos, the 28-year old rapper from Los Angeles, California draws a lot of attention. Take one glance at the man, and it’s clear where the name is derived from. But there’s more to the canvas than the body art – if you look past his ever-growing landscape of tattoos entrenched with specific meanings, anecdotes, interpretations, and relationships, you’ll soon be privy to the undeniable work ethic that’s gotten him to where he’s at today. The hunger to succeed, that’s been the driving force behind his upcoming release, becomes apparent, and the integrity that’s kept him true to himself and where he’s from takes centerstage.

I finally sobered up. Ok here's my final verdict of this s--- after 10-15 listens. It MIGHT be the best e Cole album despite having a few flaws. I still think Photograph is weak and the subject of the song is somewhat basic af, hook doesn't help either. Motiv8 grew a bit on me, but s--- still sounds like a straight Kendrick track of d---. If I ain't in the mood, I'm skipping that s--- too. The rest is great. And the rest has some of the best Cole writing of his career. I don't remember hearing any corny s--- on here, dude was finally focused as in "focused album mode". That's what I've been saying for all these years b, and I think it's obvious to everyone who listens to this s--- how different it is from usual Cole album from that standpoint. The album concept isn't anything deep, but s--- worked. Think on the other albums Cole tried too hard to follow in the GKMC blueprint, I believe he made this s--- effortlessly, he just had fun making music and hit the zone. It sounds like that. Production is nice too, I like how s--- isn't over flooded with instrumentation, it's just straightforward. Rhodes/piano +808/bass + drums + some versatility as the track progresses with the brass sections. Same formula on the more trap beats, except the instrumentation is replaced by synths and plucks. That way you can catch attention of these trap listeners who rap over a simple a--- beats, but it doesn't sound cheap like that s--- does. Cole could've used BJ Chicago Kid or Musiq Soulchild on some hooks, but IMO it isn't that much of a setback as yall make it to be. If those vocals weren't pitched down, it would sound like a regular Cole singing. Nothing spectacular, but it's good enough. I think people should be more impressed by Cole coming up with those melodies on these kinds of beats where isn't much going on. The way he wrote those melodies could easily make him top 10 songwriter in the game if he decided to write for others. Mixing still ain't perfect, and on some tracks vocals are louder than on the others, and it also sounds like he has recorded this on more than 1 mic. Despite that, it's much better mixed than 4YEO. I can see them giving a Grammy to Cole for this for 3 reasons - 1. he's on Interscope and he's everywhere now (heard ATM yesterday multiple times during the NBA commercial breaks), expect him to be on SNL, Fallon, etc. too, 2. he made something that criticizes todays society like Kendrick did. 3. and actually made something that is not expected of him, flipped the sound a bit and it sounded good. Another plus is that it's only 42 minutes long. I give this s--- 8.5/10 for now. We'll see how it will age.NoRoleModelz, King Simba, Nav Bhatia and 13 others like this. -

Tables do turn and labels do burn
The second they ask you to sell your soul
Don't you do it, don't you fold
Say "f--- that s---" and be bold
Cause all them stories you told
On records worth more than gold
And if you never go gold again, at least you will know
The end of your road was chose, by you and not companies
Who control our remote control, and hide the truth on my no
But don't mind me, I'm just high again
Smokin' weed to get by again
No, actually I'm lyin'
Cause smokin' it got me smilin'
And rhyming like I rhyme
Way back when I would play the violin
Thought that s--- wasn't cool
Momma sorry, I just stopped tryin' it
Paid for your house
In hopes there'd be no more reason for cryin'
That shows you how stupid I am
Cause n----s is out here dying
From police that flash the siren
And pull up and just start firin'
n----s murkin' each other
In murky water I try and swim
How the f--- do I look
When I brag to you about some diamond?
Said all that I could say
Now I play with thoughts of retirement

Okay... So after listening to the song for like 4 times straight....
I'm think that, I know why Cole my favorite rapper...
I know that Kenny on his tHat Part remix was full of rhymes and it was crazy...
But with Cole, he may not be all they way up with the lyrics, sometimes he can be... But what really does it for me and what has always done it for me is his flow.
His ability to make me feel the track his emotion and his story telling. I feel like I can see what he is going through and he leave it all out on one verse.
Wow... That boy good! -

For those who knew me on JCN, I worked extensively to make my Tupac website & its social media pages the biggest 'Pac pages on the internet. Not for game, but to create a platform for all Tupac fans to share news & discussions about their favourite rapper all under one roof.
I did it out of my spare time. But for the love of the artist & for his mother who raised & socialised him to be the man he was when he died. My website was widely acknowledged by Tupac's friends & family. From the ages of 16-20, I helped build & grow his beautiful legacy & made his mother proud.

The way people talk about Muslims as if they are all terrorists is the most disgusting s--- ever. The fact that a leading presidential candidate engaging in this type of insensitive rhetoric is frightening.
Donald Trump is literally the worst America has to offer who's real mission is to tear us further apart.
I pray this guy is never involved in the politics of this nation at any level.ady, Fire Squad, Equis and 13 others like this. -
