Pac's easily the GOAT to me, Biggie was great too. Pac was an interesting person as well though, not just as a rapper.mwarmst, Machiavelli, Puppets Everywhere and 7 others like this. -

Naaaaaaah, can't go there. And I love the early 2000's too.
It's close, but I'd choose 90's over early 2000's by a tiny bit. 1994 to 1999 was pretty f---ing crazy with how many great albums came out a year. I could even put 1993 in the mix too, but I'll just stick with 94-99.
In 95 you had Me Against The World, Lifestyles ov da poor and dangerous, E. 1999, then the Infamous then a couple months later, you had Built 4 Cuban Linx then Doe Or Die, all within like 5 months of each other
I mean, just thinking about 1997... You had
Mase Harlem World
Biggie Life After Death
Wu Tang Wu Forever
Rakim 18th Letter
Will Smith Big Willie Style (laugh, but this was pretty big lol)
Jay Z vol 1
Busta Rhymes When Disaster Strikes
Puff Daddy No Way Out
Then 98..
Jay Z Vol. 2
Lauryn Hill- Miseducation
DMX It's Dark and h--- Is Hot
Outkast Aquemini
Big Pun Capitol Punishment
Lyricist Lounge Vol 1
Onyx Shut Em Down
Method Man Tical 2000
I'll spare you guys the rest of the years, but IDK, I don't remember a time in hip hop like that 5 year span.

are you f---ing kidding me?
Mockingbird is a dreadful attempt at a "serious" Eminem song, much like Beautiful. Paper thin emotionally (does he say anything here that he didn't do better at an earlier time?), with a flat, monotonous delivery (as with much of Encore, he sounds like he might as well be asleep). Oh, and what a horrible ending - we get it, you have a heart but you've also still got a rascal's temper!! don't f--- with Daddy, haha ;D
Meanwhile Song Cry is one of the best songs on one of the best albums of one of the best rappers of all time and its depth clearly flew over your head entirely
