Over-generalization of people that listen to Cole. Don't understand the trap vs real music thing either but the Migos comparison doesn't prove your point imo. Migos are dope in they own right and T-Shirt my favorite song of the year but their influence doesn't negate the fact that Cole still drops dope music. I don't listen to Cole because I feel like thats what the genre "should be." I listen to him because he's makes dope music that is in my opinion authentic and compelling. Again its all opinions, but the framework of hip hop allows for n----s that listen to Cole one minute and bump Future the next. The over-generalization of Cole's fan base due to twitter (although it holds some weight because there are some pretty cringe worthy Cole fan opinions) doesn't serve well in this example and isn't much different than me over-generalizing young thug fans as people that don't care about lyrics/songwriting and only care about music that "bumps in the whip." That s--- would also be an inaccurate portrayal.ady, 2014 Forever Lives JCN, Pazuzu and 7 others like this. -

Im good with the album, if you wanna hear sone fhd s--- go play that d--- album.
I think eyez is a good lil addition to his discography. Definitely not trash.
And why would you go into the album expecting to hear false prophets and everybody dies type s---, when the tracklist came out and they weren't on the album, that shouldve gave you a clue it wasnt gone sound like that.
All i want the n----- to do is drop some videos, do some interviews. I think the album had potential to be more tbh. He didnt even let his first 2 albums die out as fast as he let this one. I just wanna know where tf bruh head at.FrenchKick, AgentDB7, Kloppinho and 7 others like this. -

Album is still really dope. It's not for everyday listen tho. I find myself enjoying album the most on dark, cold and rainy days. The title track is maybe Cole's best song ever. -

foreal tho, we talking bout deja vu being number 7 - which is wild yes - but even immortal is 11 and neighbours 13 ... both higher than work out just like that lol
change, she's mine part 1, for whom the bell tolls, ville mentally 21-24 ... all a full half-way higher than power trip ever got (48) ... 4 your eyes only 29, folding clothes 30, and she's mine part 2 - 34
crazy
definitely speaks to streaming as well and I'm guessing most will fall off in the second week ... but still, lets not forget he had the SECOND BIGGEST STREAMING WEEK OF ALL TIME BEHIN DRAKE ... so lets not just act like oh yeah its just cause streaming that he has all these songs in billboard 100, its not a W ... na, he still had to have MAJOR streams to get all the songs in there, and not just in there but all top 40Equis, slic493, Ordinary Joel and 7 others like this. -

Yeah this gold in the first week top 10 hit J. Cole that is out now is definitely a host from Westworld. No way this man is the same guy.

@Mike Tyson I thought it was something like that. Yea, this is all the way r-----ed. I don't blame you for it. Tbh I don't even know him that well. He always texts me first, figured he just likes the music I make and drinking advices I gave him. Dude has still a lot of growing up to do anyway. But he took advantage of the opportunity yall gave him and that s--- seems like something IB would do so he's prolly IB's lost son which could explain everything. They even the same race and s---. Someone like him prolly can't understand what yall did for him cause he never went through the process of starting something from zero and accepting no hand outs. I did my s--- the same way. He even offered me to feature my s--- on HHNM, but I never sent him one text asking to do it. I don't operate that way. Some people just don't get it and it's best to leave that s--- alone. f--- it. Yall 2 are always gonna be GOATs of this s--- anyway.Cruz, Equis, Ordinary Joel and 7 others like this. -

Cole's hiatus would make sense if he dropped some game changing s--- like k dot every time but instead we get drake-tier lyricism every time. In fact, we get less than drake-tier lyrics on some tracks, and drake doesn't even consider himself a hip hop artist anymore. We don't get anything super innovative, just the same cole over some different beats. You'd think with all the time this guy takes between albums that he'd find a new direction musically or push himself to drop a true classic, but in reality its just the same s---. We always get excited when we hear a track where cole's rapping like he used to on the warm up or FNL, which is sad cause those tapes dropped 6-7 years ago. Cole's been stagnant, and he's basically been recycling s--- for his past three albums. Dude used a track on FHD that he recorded 5 years prior. Smh. In fact, born sinner was probably his most ambitious album to date and look how that turned out. Cole the person is a goat/legend, cole the artist is pretty average.
He's gonna have to really surprise me on the next project to change that. -
