Since @BigCountry posted his ten favorite albums of all time, and since he asked me to do something similar, I decided to put together a list. Over the course of the weekend I'm going to slowly (two at a time?) reveal what I believe to be the top 20 rap albums released since January 1, 2000.

To be honest, I'm procrastinating a little bit--I'm on, like, four deadlines as we speak. So my posts are not going to be as thoughtful and considered as BC's; each album will probably come accompanied by one or two sentences of explanation, but I'll add in what I think is the best song from the record as a Youtube link.

I'm not limiting it to one album per artist, though I will immediately take the cop-out route and say that I didn't consider 808s & Heartbreak as it's really not a rap album.

Please post saying that you'd like to be mentioned. I don't want to steal anyone else's mention list. The first few will be up this afternoon. Start guessing.

Welcome to the SXN 80's Official List of Classics!

Okay, so I had this idea which is something I think could turn out to be really awesome if members contribute.

Everyone is always arguing about whether or not an album is a classic right? So in this thread every week (every 3 days for now until we have tougher nominations), members will vote between 5 albums (these 5 nominations will be chosen by me based off how often I see them described as classic, you can also suggest nominations). At the end of the week the album with the most votes will be certified "SXN 80 Classic". Voting will take place every week (3 days) until we have a pretty solid list. The first few rounds should be pretty easy as many albums are Classic Status worthy but things will get tougher!

Rules: 1 vote, per member, per week (3 days). Only counting Studio Albums. List will be mainly focused on hip-hop/rap albums for now but may branch off into different genres later on.

Note: The nomination that comes in 2nd place will also be nominated the following week, while the remaining 3 will NOT be eligible for nomination the following week but will be allowed in the weeks to come.

Just to clear things up, the goal of this is to create the most credible list of Classics on the internet. In order do this we must vote every album onto the list. If we were to excuse certain albums and deem them already as classics the list would lose credibility.

f--- this site and Koolo but this is very good news to read.

I went through years of being attacked for pushing this movement in hope of change. Im glad to see some of the people I went back and fourth with are finally seeing the light and coming to a realization of how mediocre this man is.

I might not be around much but do know i still bleed J. Cole lost and that wont ever change. A collage and montage of J. Cole's L's will be displayed at my wedding. All the groomsmen will wear a black tee and khakis.

Yo... Last nights show was Lit! I felt the buzz....

Nah... but the whole show was dope as f---. The article is right he did talk alot, but thats typical Cole. And it was meaningful talk.

He explained a bunch of s---, and if you have ever been to a Cole show you know that he does that all the time. His longest "rants" were about St Tropez and No Role Modles.

My favorite part of the show was when cole was talking about the day one fans. He said that once you first hear Cole you tried to put people up on him. He said there were three types of friends you would try to put up on his music. "The one who instantly was like... YUP" "The was that you had to rewind it a bit and be like ... you hear this, and then they were like ... YUP" and "The one that was always.... like ... J Cole coo and can rap ... BUT"

I went to a Cole show my first time when FNL first dropped like the same week... Cole's growth in terms of connection with the fans is wild. The first show I went to has like 500 people. Last night show was at capacity some 22k. s--- is mind blowing. I'm so proud of dude. I mean his music means so much to me and to see that he has fulfilled his dreams is just amazing.

I Got to talk with Omen, Mike Shaw and Bas... Cozz was buzy talking to bitchez haha... I told Mike Shaw that WE at Section80 f--- with him hard and he the only real MF... and that IB is a b----. He laughed and said " you know the video is a joke right" ....

I told Omen that he need to remember he has fans and that even with all the jokes he still need to ride for his music. He's a very mellow guy... I know this s--- was long but Last night was dope as f---... glad I didnt flip my tickets and ended up going to the show.

I got my Dreamville hat too!

Just joined again for the first time in a while, and have already seen 3 girls who I KNOW have boyfriends on there. One is a good friend of mine, posted it in the whatsapp group and mates confirmed it's her, he's studying in a different country at the moment. Another is a girl I work with (what an idiot cheating on a public app) and another is a chick I went high school with but see every now and then. Studied at uni with her bf.

Breezy was right. Y'all gotta watch your girls man.
