Album of the Week Club:
-Each week a different member will choose an album for the group to listen too
-Each member then submits a score out of 10 after completing their listen.
-The scores are then tallied
- After two rounds of albums, the club enters 2 rounds of Mixtape Mania, where users create their own mixtapes to share with the group. Order typically goes like this:
2 Rounds of Albums -> 2 Rounds of Mixtapes -> 2 Rounds of Albums

Nov 12, 2021
Hello S80
Recently myself and @GUnit40 decided to create a 50 Cent Archive to preserve Fifty's many mixtape classics as everyone seemed to forget LOL. Currently we've got a pretty nice base done and we're looking to share and get some extra help!
Here's were the spreadsheets at currently along with an idea of the tracks acquired long with it's quality. If you think you can contribute to this project please s---t me a message I promise I won't spam Canibus material.

Bout time! Love the cover. Cole is the only rapper I’m putting above Freddie for me atm. Really interested to see what direction this is headed.
Will there be features???

...with no real album out since 2009(AA barely qualifies).
How Sway? How can that be?
Even Kanye, Wayne, and Kendrick didn't get as much Youtube streams last year even though they're much more musically relevant.

You already know what it is. Just a place to post and chat about things that don't need or have their own thread, music related or not.![[IMG]](https://media4.giphy.com/media/3o85xvSx4BOTYs8gNy/giphy.gif?cid=f4b180e9ss5wieygvwzvqqvo0122xugn6apdvappioh3lbqp&rid=giphy.gif)
Dystopia started it. PlusSXN too exclusive. Those Revival and Midnight Marauders threads were garbage, a disgrace, abysmal.

She’s nice... but her phone died twice (she didn’t come back the second time and her team couldn’t reach out.. this was after her shooting a music video). I had two questions left so they first said to email, then they never replied... then they said do without it. But then last night they sent the final two answers for me.
she’s not really media trained yet, but hey, it was cool.Slyk, Sign Language, MichaelsMad and 11 others like this.Apr 27, 2026(This ad goes away when signing up) -

Lil Wayne has been on rap attack since Cash Money let him off the leash. Now, it looks like Weezy is ready to revive his patented mixtape grind by adding to a legendary series.
During a recent appearance on ESPN, Lil Wayne touched on the upcoming projects that are on deck. The rapper assures fans that Tha Carter VI will come without a delay, but first, he wants to give them a special treat.
"Carter VI coming soon," Wayne said. "But, I got No Ceilings coming first. No Ceilings 3."
Lil Wayne built the core fan base that carries him today by blessing them with free music via mixtapes. While this is a solid game plan for most rappers working to build a buzz, Lil Wayne never stopped feeding his fans free music even when he was at the peak of his career. The best example of this would be Weezy's first No Ceilings mixtape.
In October 2009, there wasn't a rapper on Beyoncé's green Earth that was hotter than Lil Wayne. Weezy scorched the music with his Grammy-winning album Tha Carter III after prepping the fire with an onslaught of mixtapes and features. While most entertainers would rest on this success, Wayne was ready to ascend to his rightful place as rap's rock star. But before he put his attention into Rebirth, Weezy returned to hip-hop's roots by releasing a mixtape that's the zenith of "jacking for beats" in No Ceilings.
For 20 songs, Wayne ripped through the instrumental of every hot rap song (or R&B record). Wayne even gave fans an original record for the 21st song, "Single," which went on to become one of his signature hits. It's safe to say that No Ceilings was a success and that junior high basketball warm-up tapes haven't been the same since. Wayne followed this with the very popular sequel, No Ceilings 2, and he's now shooting for a three-peat.
Along with announcing No Ceilings 3 and Tha Carter VI, Weezy claimed that he and 2 Chainz will be dropping Collegrove 2 in the near future also. This follows the release of Chainz's single, "Money Maker," which featured Tunechi.Apr 27, 2026(This ad goes away when signing up) -

So this thread is inspired by @Sav Stanfield 's legendary "80 days 80 songs" thread. Since I can't update my "unknown artist" thread every day, I started to think that this would be the perfect way of putting people on stuff they might never heard. I'm not only gonna focus on unknown artists this time because there are a lot of songs of rather known artists which many people just missed. I'm planning to post a new song everyday until I run out (which probably won't happen). Also not just limited to Hip Hop, just generally everything I love listening to. Hope you guys enjoy!
Day 0: Gashi - Upset (feat. Pink Sweat$ & Njomza)
Been obsessed with this song since it came out. Digging the 80s vibe that's been going on lately. Gashi is also mad underrated, shoutout to albania because hella talented people come from there.

- Thread: Revisiting 2001
Jan 11, 2020
I was having fun with this Revisiting series but seems a bit like overkill since we're now doing the best albums of the decade thread.
So thought it would be interesting to go further back in time to what started now 2 full decades ago. I'm picking 2001 because I think this was around the time I first really became interested in hip hop. Thats where the whole journey started for me.
Anyways 2001 was a wild a--- year for hip hop. The memory of 'East vs. West' and the Shiny Suit Era that followed was beginning to fade, and what used to be very much strictly regional sub-genres and trends in the South and Midwest started to get a lot more exposure. T.I. and Ludacris' names popped up for the first time. Juvenile continued on his hot streak. The underground scene (and especially Def Jux) boomed - Aesop Rock, Cunninglynguists, Dilated Peoples, Cannibal Ox, Immortal Technique. Movie soundtracks were a f---in huge thing.
The truth is in 2001, NY was still the mecca. Albums from Busta Rhymes, DMX, Jadakiss, MOP, Mobb Deep, and Wu-Tang, debuts from Ja Rule, Beanie Sigel and Fabolous. And who could forget? The tension between the 2 biggest names in the game had been brewing for years and finally exploded into an all out war, resulting in some of the best hip hop music ever made, bar none (and in the process introducing the world to the producer that would just a few years later change the game for good). And though he didn't drop any solo albums in 01, all the while that crazy white boy from Detroit had somehow snuck up and threatened to just take the throne for himself.

for those that don't know, G-Unit and all affiliated acts had a godly run in the mixtape scene flooding radios and the internet with like 100 mixtapes over a 10 yr period. and imo somehow made 50 king of the underground as well as being #1 in the mainstream.
signing classic aggressive rappers/acts like MOP and Mobb Deep made his mixtape cuts and freestyle f---ing godly to the underground. Figured this would be a good way to showcase some of 50's more grimier raps as well as show off some more under appreciated members/affilates of the unit
to kick things off; The Unit Remains Supreme
this is one of my fav tapes as it has a lot of bangers and one of my favourite 50 songs of all time im so serious along with some of fantastiic LLoyd Banks verses to say just a little.
