May 16, 2022 I agree with the one who said that he can appreciate d--- more now. I feel the same way!!! d--- had classic Kendrick songs like Humble. This album has no single classic song.
May 16, 2022 First listen (CD1) N95 has parts that I like and parts that I hate. d--- weird voices again. Die Hard is nice I like the calm vibe of Rich Spirit, sounds good. We Cry Together is like hearing a couple argue. At least Em added some singing and s--- to Kim. Purple Hearts has Summer stealing the show, and Ghostface being more interesting than Kendrick. Nothing special so far, I wouldn't really come back to most of these.
May 16, 2022 That's what I thought on the first listen, I wasn't that impressed. But my opinion changed.
May 16, 2022 at this day and age, it's really hard to believe that. I use 2-3 harddisks for my architectural projects and photos. There are also online storing options. Don't know what he did but he kinda called for it if he were just storing them on one harddisk.
May 16, 2022 Yes he has more vocal range than anyone I’ve ever seen, I think someone did a video on how he’s evolving language no joke
May 16, 2022 This album is batting a 100 on metacritic. Insane My ranking goes 1.GKMC 2.MMATBS 3.d--- 4.S80 5.TPAB
May 16, 2022 Autotune corrects pitch but it doesn't magically alter your vocal chords to have a wider range. I guarantee you that the vast majority of your fav singers have used autotune at one time or another to correct their pitch, they just use it as an engineering tool and not as an effect so you don't notice it. When artists like Future, Thug, and 03 Greedo are using it to the point that you notice it they're using it as an effect. If you try messing around with autotune in an audio editing program you'll see it doesn't just automatically sound like it does in professionally released songs. It's like a vocoder or any other audio effect where it takes a talented engineer to make it sound right. Kendrick even uses it on this album if I remember right? Even beyond autotune Kendrick def alters his vocals using audio tools throughout his albums.
May 16, 2022 I just got round to listening to this and wow, what a massive let down. No doubt there's a few really great tracks on here but overall this is just a f---ing mess. I'm a kendrick stan and it feels like one of those post hiatus Eminem albums, i.e. you listen through it trying to convince yourself it's good but you know deep down it's s---, give or take a few moments. I don't know who Kendrick is trying to be these days. He barley raps on this album and when he does his flows are pretty boring. Some of the lyrics and choruses are just plain stupid too, I was sitting there thinking "this really made it onto a Kendrick album?" Can't understand the critical acclaim it's getting at all. This is by far his worst project. Up until this album he had a Kanye-esque discography where all he released were classics.
May 16, 2022 I understand why Kendrick dickriders say some wild s--- if the takes in this thread are what they have to deal with lmfao
May 16, 2022 Okay so i changed my f---ing mind.First listen i wasn't feeling the record because i expected more soul vibes like thp5.But i can say after a couple more listens this is really a vibe.Great record!!
