    No idea what to expect at this point but I'm hyped. I kinda wish they were just gonna surprise drop it all at once but a release date makes me think they'll drop a single and music video on Friday or something

    I'm officially giving up on talking to marsh about flops because I gave him an example of a recent post Malone song that objectively did not flop and he just ignored it and said post malone singles flopped.

    Also The Weeknd didn't flop. It's a universally praised album with no prior singles to boost the streams. If an album is good it's not a flop in my eyes. Weeknd underperformed commercially but he delivered an amazing album. So who gives a f--- lol

    I remember the photos of Kendrick shooting a video on a beach in all white almost a year ago and getting hyped. Finally seeing what it was for. One of my favorite tracks on the album.

    it's also funny cuz half the people who hate it hate it cuz they think it's too woke and the other half hate it because they think it's too offensive. So like most things, it's prob a gray area somewhere in the middle rather than being strictly black and white. the concept of nuance is dead.

    I genuinely don't get the "woke, pretentious album" criticism, it's f---ing Kendrick if you didn't expect that than idk what to tell you lol. And this is nowhere near as """pretentious""" as tpab, it's just personal.

    Knew all the critics would give this 5 star because it’s pretentious, overcomplicated and full of ‘poetry’.

    No good songs though, which used to be important.

    I definitely don't love 100% of this after first listen, but I like enough of it to know I'll be pissed if Jack Harlow beats it in any award category

    Basically each song represent his therapy sessions and the idea of double disk is The Downs and The Breakthrough. It's his most personal album to date. Might not be for everybody as most of us expected the usual from him - Social, racial, political problems and black power but instead of talking about the outside, he choose the inside as Jay did with 4:44. Definetely not what I've expected but can't be mad about it either. it definetely caught me off guard
