Dec 3, 2016 Encore and Relapse rule. I love em both. Em didnt really sell out on either. he just took an unpopular but different direction and i think some people, including myself, really enjoy these albums and love them. Relapse could be his best imo.
Dec 3, 2016 Haha yeah, I loved when, on Encore, he made fart and s--- sounds for like half the album. Great artistic direction haha. Oh, I also love puke, when he, you know, pukes all on the song. GOAT.
Dec 3, 2016 I also loved that one song Big Weenie too. GOAT. And that song a--- Like That where he raps as Triumph! Haha! Oh man, he got em good.
Dec 3, 2016 no one said it was goat. but it is entertaining music and good to some people. no need to act like a 13 yr old who didnt get his way when his friends were voting on the best COD game. this is why people cant have discussions on forums like this. if it isnt the majority opinion dickheads like u start to be sarcastic and just plain baiting games and being stupid.
Dec 3, 2016 OK, I'll give you my real input... I liked Eminem since a little before he made it to the mainstream. I loved SSLP (my favorite Eminem album), MMLP and TES because they were creative, they had energy, there was wit and great writing. Encore is lazy. It uses childish humor in the middle of the album, and tired out, boring concepts from TES to finish it. Granted, yes, I get that Encore was an encore from the Eminem Show, but I didn't think he'd come off lazy. Was there high points? Sure. I loved Never Enough. I really liked Yellow Brick Road, Like Toy Soldiers, Spend Some Time, Encore, and I think the most underrated song is Crazy In Love. But even with these highs, would I consider them top 20-30 Eminem songs? f--- no. The middle of this album is an embarrassment to how great Eminem was from 98-03. He legit s--- on the reputation he built up for himself, as not only being a credible MC, but one of the best. If it was just ONE song? Sure. But it was 8 out of 16 songs. When I heard this album, I was in straight disbelief that Eminem could ever make something so f---ing bad. That's how highly I thought of him prior to Encore. This is the Eminem that I remember, and used to respect: (He's definitely drugged up here, but notice how he talks about respect and wanting people to give him respect as an MC. He used to talk about this A LOT. Now tell me Big Weenie is something that earns respect as a rapper.)
Dec 3, 2016 I know the thread is regarding disappointment and its not as good as its predecessors but its still a good album. The other options are in the same boat but genuinely BAD albums
Dec 3, 2016 PS I don't even mind Relapse that much, because at least Eminem was trying. I hated the accents, but at least there was effort. Plus My Mom and Deja Vu were GREAT songs. Encore is so embarrassing though. Like, I can't believe he went into the booth and recorded Big Weenie.
Dec 3, 2016 Compton is dope. Really enjoy that album. His best? Obviously not. Fans often fall in love with an artist based on one or two albums and expect that same type of release in the future. And when the new release sounds nothing like their old sound, people often say it sucks. It happens to literally every single musician in every genre. Regarding Compton, it's obviously not his best album. But there are some bangers on there. Both of Jon Connor's appearances are so f---ing incredible. He absolutely destroys both tracks. I still listen to about half of the Compton album regularly (I work from home so I listen to music all day). Edit: Compton starts off with bangers from track 2 through track 6. High quality songs that for me have great replay value. Plus both Jon Connor tracks plus Medicine Man. That's 8 songs right off the bat that are incredible IMO. That's off the top of my head and already that's half of the album. Edit again, sorry: How anyone can say that Compton is more disappointing than Dre Presents the Aftermath is ridiculous to me.
Dec 3, 2016 i never said they were? i said relapse is one of my fav em albums maybe my favorite. encore is a good album. but yeah its worse than the others.
Dec 3, 2016 I didn't say that you said that. I said it as a point where even though there were highs in Encore, they weren't enough to save the album. Relapse has My Mom and Deja Vu though, which definitely helped it.
Dec 4, 2016 What do you think about Rainman? It was funny as h--- hahahaha pretty s--- quality wise, but would take that anytime over the new mainstream rappers.
