Scherzer to the rangers, and this was a much better idea than keeping Degrom, even @Tone Riggz argued it. Just admit you embarrassed yourself trying to justify that trade.

No, Mets already had Scherzer. Verlander was the swap for deGrom, who left the Mets for the Rangers. And he’s been playing much better than Scherzer and deGrom (who’s currently hurt). Which trade are you talking about? DeGrom’s contract was up, he decided to go with the Rangers. That wasn’t a trade. Scherzer has been playing like crap lately and he basically said he wanted out. So he got what he wanted. Mets season is already tanking, might as well be sellers.

You know what I meant, quit dodging my main point.
“Mets season is already tanking, might as well be sellers” I rest my case, no further words needed. Fell apart after Degrom left.

You wait until I see my doc this week and I get all fueled up. You shouldn’t have questioned my mlb trade knowledge. Worm might get it too. I saw some of those subliminal insults.

deGrom has been hurt most of the season. If he stayed it wouldn’t have made a difference. Verlander has been better for the Mets than Scherzer this year and probably would’ve been better than deGrom if he stayed in NY. As I’ve always said since deGrom started getting injuries consistently- he’s elite when he’s not hurt. The problem is he’s been hurt a lot the past couple of years.

You don’t know or can’t prove this though. He could have been luckily healthy for the Mets this year with better chances.

What was some of that Verlander hype about? The last I checked he’s back to the cheating Astros lmao Mets pitching will be worse than pirates pitching next season.

Verlander, as short as his stay was, did better this year than Scherzer and deGrom. And yes, most people already knew deGrom had the injury bug because he was consistently injured in his final couple of years with the Mets. Unfortunately, despite what Eppler says, the Mets are rebuilding and stocking up on prospects. The only silver lining is that Cohen is the owner and not The Wilpons.

Alright, feeling too peaceful to argue about Verlander, Degrom. Verlander was still doing better this year than I thought. I was thinking maybe he’d start tanking this year but looked solid, when I saw him start a few games. I think he’s one of those that could still have a few years, if his arm isn’t shot by then. Hopefully Degrom doesn’t turn into Kluber with the arm injuries because he has elite potential. Yeah it’d be nice to have a franchise that knew how to rebuild more quickly or cared like in New York.

Ik Santana isn’t great, good, but for the pirates at 1B, you need a guy who at least has a chance of a home run swing. They just infuriate me giving him away for a 18 year old SS prospect. They couldn’t have got a below average rp in the bullpen at least? Doesn’t even make sense with Cruz being the future SS, until getting rid of him if he has a good season next year I guess.

Yeah I picked the rangers to win it all like 6 months ago. You should see the profit boost. Well I already spent in on edibles, but you should have seen it.

Since the padres took out a loan to help cover their team and whatever other reasons, the pirates could take out a big loan and just use it towards Ohtani. Last I saw the teams interested in him, one were the pirates. At least this one source he was right a few times before but was wrong on Stanton and Soto maybe coming to Pittsburgh.

It’s warm 3/4 of the year in Pittsburgh just in off season it’d get cold so it wouldn’t even matter then for Ohtani. Plus it’d help as a pro not to be a wimp and get use to maybe a 5-10 degree difference at times.

I don't see Ohtani going there. Soto is a possibility though

honestly I wouldn't want Ohtani. His contract is going to be insane and he possibly may never be a starting pitcher ever again

    Soto to the Yanks

and Ohtani to the Dodgers for 700 mill lmao. What a terrible contract. I thought at the most he'd get 500 mil. So glad the Yankees didn't go after him

Agreed, bad contract…angels had him in his prime…Ohtani turning 30…he’s only got couple years left at same production last couple years…he might have had a better chance of winning it all with blue jays
