May 4, 2023 Again agreed. 4 is pretty much on the same level as 1 (not entirely though). Jamie is a great substitute for Laurie and Loomis is, again, great. They wanted to have Jamie as evil for 5 but people demanded Michael back so they changed the ending to make him survive lol. I do like the connection between them but its never explained or fully used... they wanted to slowly introduce the Thorn bs. If they just went on and explore the jamie and michael connection it would have been better. Also, huge mistake to k--- off Rachel so soon.... she was a much better protaganist than Tina lol. And then yeah the basic story of 6 is fine. Haddonfield banning Halloween, the effects on Tommy Doyle and the town itself (pretty much a similar theme as Kills and Ends) are nice. But then they go to that cult bs and its kinda ruined lol. Curious about ur thoughts on H20 (I think its way overrated) and the others and ur end ranking!
May 8, 2023 Evil Dead Rise was really good imo, not without faults like the family dynamic in the beginning can be a bit cringe like most horror movies but when it gets going it's really fun. Really interesting mix of 2013 and the good B movie nature of Evil Dead 2. @disturbedmind69 @Lucifer
May 8, 2023 I didnt think it was bad, my gf liked it more than me,just didnt think it was nearly as good as the 2013 one
May 8, 2023 Yeah thats fair, I'm just happy that Evil Dead is staying a franchise where every installment is worth a watch lol
May 8, 2023 Im still really impressed with scream 6 It wasnt perfect but for a 6th installment was very good
May 10, 2023 Finally done with watching the Halloween series after a f---ing month lmao. I’ll do a quick ranking and if anyone got questions let me know. Keep in mind I got enjoyment out of all of these movies. I know some people thought Resurrection was terrible but I even found some enjoyment in that (mostly from how cringe it is lmao). Also keep in mind this ranking will probably change in the future as I watch more movies… I’m not much of a movie connoisseur so I’m not the best at judging them. I’ll probably end up watching the new Halloween movies again at some point. Halloween III is last simply because it has almost nothing to do with the rest of the series… I still kinda enjoyed it From best to worst: Halloween (1978) Halloween II (1981) Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers Halloween (2018) Halloween (2007) Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers Halloween Kills Halloween H20: 20 Years Later Halloween Ends Halloween II (2009) Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers Halloween: Resurrection Halloween III: Season of the Witch
May 10, 2023 I enjoyed Kills but the stupidity of the mob just really brought it down for me. I liked that Ends tried something different, and I didn’t hate it entirely but the Corey and Allyson scenes were awful. I’ll probably watch those movies again some time in the future and reevaluate my ranking, but that’s gonna take a while because I need a break from this d--- franchise now lol
May 10, 2023 Kills is dumb but fun. It’s like Scream. Just pure pleasure of watching Mike wild out. I just don’t enjoy Ends at all, it’s a shame.
May 10, 2023 Yeah if u take away the stupid mob s--- and just had a few off them face off w Michael it would have been amazing. Still good though and imo better than most sequels. But the way they ruined Tommy Doyle (awwwwful character here) and Marion Chambers (EVIL DIES TONIGHT... CRINGE) is terrible. Lindsey the only true valuable character they brought back. And Bracket was cool. For the nostalgia it was cool to see Marion but kinda pointless. The countless easter eggs in Kills are dope af though and Ends actually has a lot more fun references than I noticed before , after watching Kills again. Tonight, Ends again!
May 10, 2023 I did a list like 5 months ago, I think I had Kills and Ends both higher. But bro.... Ressurection and Halloween 2 (2009) above Halloween 3....?
May 10, 2023 Mike being invincible killed the vibe for me. Specially since it was only the second movie and you know he's not going to die since there was going to be a third one, but still. I expected him to be harder to k---, but still human. Dude just woke up again like it was nothing and the mob, yeah, they could have done it better.
May 10, 2023 People always forget that Loomis shot him 6 times in the first movie and he walked away. So him being a 'normal' human was never the case lol. But I agree the way he just stood up after the beat down, being shot and stabbed was stupid. It honestly should have been the ending; Haddonfield beating him down... Laurie the final stab and then the last few minutes of Halloween Ends where they destroy his body. Its so stupid that the mob didn't just destroy his body lol. Of course its because there was a 3rd movie, but it makes zero sense for the mob to think an a--- whooping was gonna do the trick. In the other movies they all (at least tried) to destroy his body. To add; but if they went with okay michael is supernatural.... then why turn him into a weak, wounded animal in Ends?? He killed Karen with brute force so he was not weakened at all
May 10, 2023 Halloween 3 is just at the bottom because it mostly had nothing to do with the rest of the series. If it wasn’t for that and I was just ranking how much I like that movie I’d probably put it below Ends and before H2 (2009) in my ranking
May 10, 2023 I think I said I was gonna watch A Nightmare On Elm Street series next but f--- that I wanna do the Scream series before that especially since Scream 6 just came to Paramount+. Maybe I’ll do both series at the same time
May 10, 2023 I think overall, Michael is scarier when you don’t explain the lore behind him and just see him as this cold-blooded killing machine stalker without a cause. Once you bring in the elements of Laurie being his sister, all that magical mystical cult type of s---, and him making grunting noises/showing his face often (Halloween II 2009) he starts to become less scary. Although I could see people arguing that Laurie being his sister makes him scarier, since that basically makes him someone who wants to erase his bloodline. I appreciate that they kept trying to do different things with Michael though… the same movie of him stalking girls over and over again would’ve gotten boring
