Apr 10, 2023 Only real halloween fans noticed (as will you when u saw everything) how Ends pays hommage to Halloween III in many ways... And how the movie (after the credits) starts with a piece of music from 30 years ago.. LOVED that throwback! @jankland @BIGFOOT u know what I mean?
Apr 10, 2023 Love it when movies do that (as long as it's done well) Any other little easer eggs at all bro?
Apr 10, 2023 My favorite attention to detail was all the fonts and text color of the new movies matching the original 3
Apr 10, 2023 You haven't seen a nerd ranting yet, wait until someone insults a movie or show I have a personal connection to on here lmao.
Apr 11, 2023 I found some time these past few days to watch the first three Halloween movies. Here’s my thoughts: Halloween (1978) - I love how this movie gets right into it, with a first person view of Michael killing his sister (she had nice boobs). All of the ways the camera follows Michael throughout the movie are so cool and creative. The line delivery is weird at times… the intonations of their voices sound like they’re overacting and just aren’t how normal people talk. It’s interesting seeing Michael drive and also hearing him grunt lmao. The music is amazing btw. It’s a classic movie setting up a legendary franchise, this is my favorite of these three. Halloween II (1981) - Love the Mr. Sandman song. The music is amazing again, maybe even better than the first movie. The acting was immediately better and the line delivery was more natural this time around. The continuation of those Michael POV shots are awesome once again. Some of the kills in this movie look funny, I know it’s old though. The police car running into the fake Michael and ramming him into a van causing an explosion made me laugh my a--- off. I gotta mention I did enjoy the hot tub kills. I don’t like how most of the movie is spent in the hospital, with a lot of scenes dragging on due to focusing on people walking longer than should be focused on or exposition through news broadcasts. It feels like the story didn’t progress much. Michael bleeding out of his eyes near the end looks dope though. I’d say this is almost on par with the first movie but the issues I mentioned drag it down for me. Halloween III: Season of the Witch - This is a wild movie. At first, I didn’t like how it was focusing on a completely different story and just didn’t care about it. Eventually, I started becoming interested around the middle of the movie. The movie did feel like it dragged on quite a bit though, I kept checking to see when it was gonna be over. I didn’t need to see the love and sex between the two main characters, it was pointless and wasted time. The whole town of Santa Mira with humanoid killers who spew out yellow liquid when destroyed was bizarre but pretty cool, same with the Silver Shamrock masks. The bugs and snakes coming out of the masks when killing the people wearing them was crazy. This movie got creative, kinda ridiculous and bizarre but I liked it. This is still my least favorite of the three though. While I don’t think it’s a bad movie and I appreciate them trying something different, I would’ve liked it a lot more if it wasn’t connected to this franchise. I get that it’s technically a “Halloween” movie but I really want Michael’s story, not this s---.
Apr 26, 2023 Just finished it. Not a big fan of the reveal scene and it’s acting, other than that it was pretty fun. I also don’t understand how characters get stabbed and they still doing “good”. Same thing happened in SV
May 3, 2023 Been slowly watching the rest of the Halloween movies. None of them are terrible or anything. I don’t really have too many thoughts on them right now other than the curse of Michael Myers being weird as h--- lol. I still have H20, Resurrection, and the 2 rob zombie movies left to watch
May 3, 2023 Lmao this Spoiler I mean that chad dude (think thats his name) was gutted by 2 killers and in the end he just walked. Its one thing that he survived, but this was just lame lol
May 3, 2023 Pretty much agree w all of this! H1 is a classic. The second one really has a great first half. Especially when he's just walking through the neighborhood (which Halloween 2018 pays hommage to) etc. But the hospital s--- is pretty boring, until the end. H3 is good. But especially so much potential... wish they made a remake of that. I like it but yes the romance s--- was not needed.
May 3, 2023 Thoughts on them individually? Especially H4. H6 is meh, I don't hate the movie but the cult s--- is f---ing terrrrrrible. And 5 is fine, except for the introduction of that curse bs lol.
May 3, 2023 Chick from the subway had to die too. But nothing tops Gayle coming back in V like “I’m ok, it’s not that bad”
May 3, 2023 From best to worse, I’d rank them H4 > H5 > H6. The roof fight in 4 was cool. I’d even say I like that movie almost as much as the first 2. H5 continuing directly after was nice. I see this is where they started teasing someone getting infected with Michael’s evil, but they didn’t really follow through with it until years later on Halloween Ends. But yeah the curse s--- is strange. And H6 was okay I guess but all the cult s--- just felt like a stupid addition to Michael’s lore imo. Paul Rudd was interesting tho
May 3, 2023 Always meant to watch It Follows but never got around to it until now, It's really good! I could see why some people wouldn't like it but the entire vibe is right up my wheelhouse. A lot of it vaguely reminded me of John Carpenter in the best way possible.
