kind of underwhelming imo, like the first half is just great all around but it seemed like they just didn't know what to do in the second half

made me genuinely uncomfortable though :emoji_thumbsup:

I can understand why you'd think that it kinda gets lost in the sauce but if anything I'd say it got the point it was trying to get across pretty well even if there is a few weird moments along the way!

The Evil Dead remake is actually pretty good, keeps the same vibe as the originals and it was produced by Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell and it shows thankfully! I'm excited for the new movie in April cause I heard the test screenings were super positive.

    11. Halloween II (2009)

The first Rob Zombie remake worked for me. It was an entirely different take, but I'll get to that later. The sequel though, not so much. Rather than wanting to k--- Laurie, 'this' Michael is more focussed on getting the family back together. Which is fine, but it completely ruins his character imo. The ghost of his mom (just so Zombie could have his wife in the movie lol) was really lame, and yeah they just wanted more gore in this movie for some reason. Not a fan of Zombie movies in general. But my bigges issue is how they ruined the lead characters. Laurie, being fine in the first, is now insufferable. Terrible acting, and very s-----y written here. And dont get me started on Loomis. I was kinda impressed how he was a caring doctor -different but not that much worse than Donald- in the first, here he's an arrogant piece of s--- ugh. I never really care for any of them here. I got to give it props for some creativity so I double the score for Resurrection. 4/10

    10. Halloween 5: The Revenge Of Michael Myers

After a pretty good return, and an exciting ending of 4, Halloween 5 never really knows what it wants to be. The main reason: the writers being forced to throw away the original idea of focussing on Jamie after the last movie. They had to bring back Michael so they changed the ending (not as ridiculous as in Resurrection but still) and they just went with 'there's a supernatural connection between Jamie and Michael'. The biggest mistake imo is k--- one of the best characters right at the start of the movie. The other teenagers that were killed, I never really cared for. Loomis and Jamie were again brilliant though and and the movie itself is fine to watch. But its obvious they had an idea and had to toss it for something else. Here they also start that stupid Thorn storyline. I give this the exact same number as the movie itself. 5/10

I finished Don’t Worry Darling last night. I don’t think it’s nearly as bad as everyone says it is, but it’s definitely a mess. It was interesting enough to keep me watching though

    9. Halloween 6: The Curse Of Michael Myers

The reason I got this above Halloween 5, is because the movie itself isn't even that bad. Paul Rudd plays a much better and more realistic version of Tommy Doyle than Antony Hall does in Halloween Kills. The fact that they made Michael r--- Jamie and that she is killed in the first 10 minutes is lame as f---. And the most obvious thing: the Thorn bs. Its horrible. But the main characters (Loomis, Kara, Danny) are fine and the Strode family, the fact that they canceled Halloween -similar idea they used again in Kills- make it kinda interesting. Some good kills and an overal enjoyable movie if it wasn't for that stupid storyline. And... it has a sort of definitive ending as it seems like Tommy Kills Michael... more effective than attacking him with a huckleberry baseball bat lmao. 5.5/10

    8. Halloscream H20.

I always thought this movie borrowed a lot from Scream. But this year I watched it on the same day and I finally noticed: its the exact same score lmfao. Also, windshor college (scream 2) = hillcrest acadamy. By no means is this a bad movie, but to me this is the only Halloween movie that doesn't feel like a Halloween movie. Its Scream, featuring Laurie and Michael. I love the Scream movies, but this is definitely a watered down, more boring movie. Jamie does an excellent job obviously, and the last 20 minutes are great. But the other characters just don't really interest me. The one thing that does make this stand out, is closure. There's no doubt that Laurie eventually kills Michael (I know, but f--- that movie). Also like how this is a different take on Laurie than 2018 and on... she's still traumatized, alcoholic, but she moved on and changed her name. Conclusion; I like it, but it feels too little as a Halloween movie to be higher on this list. Too obvious more a "Scream" movie. 6.5/10

    7. Halloween (2007)

If you ignore the stupid Thorn theory, we were always told that Michaels rage was just there. No explanation. Rob Zombie took an entirely different route: watching the first scene of the movie you already understand how a kid could become a killer. A typical white trash family with some redneck lowlife stepdad, a slut mom, a hot (maybe slutty) sister and a baby. The road to evil, also his sime at Smiths Grove where he would slowly become more distant and quiet, is very well done imo. Also, instead of trying to k--- Laurie, his intention is to find his little "boo" sister. He only attacks here after she rejects him. A very interesting take even though this Laurie is no Jamie Lee. Having Danielle Harris here was a GREAT move.

However the second half, its too similar mostly to the original. So yeah, despite the fact that I prefer the original take over a typical f----- up kid that's pushed to being a killer, Zombie did a good job telling the story in a different way. 6.8/10
