Also lots of movies are probably postponed ? Like Halloween Kills smh.

Tbh haven't watched many horrors this past year. W all the f----- up corona s--- I rather watched funny stuff instead of horror tbh.

But if there are cool recs, definitely in!

Maybe that's a nod to how he "survived" at the end of Halloween II in the hospital?

though the film isn't in the timeline anymore, they threw nods in Halloween (2018) to past films in the franchise, so maybe idk?..lol

I look at the timeline like this, Halloween (1978) and Halloween II (1981) as one big film, just in "2" parts. Then in my imagination at the end of part II, he survives the fire and gets sent to a mental hospital up until the events of Halloween (2018)

    so, Halloween/Halloween II + Halloween (2018) + Halloween Kills + Halloween Ends

    That's my timeline

After a year of anticipating and having huge expectations I finally watched 'US' yesterday.

Expected a 'Strangers' kind of movie w some other aspects (the fact that they were copies) but after the first, -great- half our I honestly didn't know what the f--- I was watching. I laughed a lot but not at moments the movie intended to be funny.

I kinda get it had some kinda hidden meanings (which were pretty good) and the movie was put together very well, but it seemed more like some artsy bs and definitely NOT a great horror movie except the first part. Such a dissappointment. It reminded me of Midsommar, that was just as embarrassing imo.

    Lets discuss!

Sooo where do I begin. I didn’t exactly have extremely high expectations because I know as well as you guys nothing will ever be as good as the original. However DGG can’t watch this and possibly think he couldn’t have done better. Why aren’t there scenes of Michael stalking much? Why is he killing his victims in unoriginal ways and so quickly? Just quick stabs here and there. No sound cues like the original. Look at how he kills Bob and Annie in the original. Long, drawn out, disturbing. Clearly these guys didn’t watch the original movie. They opted for a higher body count rather than trying to make the most of him only killing a couple people on screen. Also wtf was that twist with the doctor? They definitely lost me a bit with that. Surprised John Carpenter signed off on this. It definitely didn’t impress me much. God dammit. I wanted so badly for it to be amazing too. But it’s just... okay. The intro callback was amazing at least. And Jamie was awesome as usual. I hope to god this grows on me and I can appreciate it the more I see it. But how does it stack up with the others? Eh, it’s still one of the better ones.

I came across this piece on "monumental horror images," which I thought was pretty cool.
