Aight not on to the 'halloween' movies!

The Fog

Around the time of Halloween 1, 2, and 3, John Carpenter also made this movie. Even if its not a halloween centered movie, it is similar as in being a small town story. I love those and I really wish JC would have kept the idea of making a new story every year like this one. Also the Fog has half the same cast as Halloween (Jamie Lee and her mom, Nancy Loomis, the one that played sherif Bracket, and Tom Atkins from Halloween 3). The story is simple, yet effective. Cast is great obviously and the score is again typical JC, amazing. The speciall effects are obviously very old but I don't mind that. Makes the movie more believable I guess. Anual watch for sure! 8/10

Halloween 4

Said this last year; this one is so close to the original. Parts of it are a little rehashed maybe but most of the story is fresh, the kills are cool, Rachel and Jamie are great new leads and ofc Loomis >
Only thing is that Michael suddenly looks like a heavyweight champion lol. The ending is cool, but they decided not to continue that story so it doesn't really count I guess. Classic 8.5/10

You silly man. The ratings I give are personal: how much I like them. So I mean maybe S4 is a 'better' movie but to me FvsJ has so much nostalgia I like it more.

I didnt hate NN, but I didnt love it either.

You didn't even like the first Saw? That ending is top 15 of all time imo. But yeah from 4-7 I'm not too big into it because it's mainly gore over story. Jigsaw is such a great "villain" though.

Lmao yeah lesson learned on part 2. I'll probably end up watching all of the Halloween movies but its good to know which ones are decent!

I can see the gripe about the dream power. The pool scene in 2 was dope, but that's it. The studio used a totally unrelated script they had lying around so they could justify rushing the sequel. The whole gay metaphor thing (which has been confirmed by tbe director and actors involved) could've been explored outside of the NoES IP.

I just finished the first one, watching 3 now. I'm going to post reviews when I'm done.

Also I agree that 3 is good. I gave it a 6.5 because I think the whole 'dream power' thing was very very corny but overall its a solid movie. It turned to s--- after this one sadly. With, of course, the exception of the best movie of the franchise.

Spoiler: Exorcist Believer

It has been 4 days since I watched it and I'm still not really sure what to think of it. It's impossible not to compare it to the original obviously. The things that I liked where the return of Chris McNeil and, obviously, the surprise at the end: Regan! But when we saw her pics and the constant mentions, I kinda expected her to show up. I think she will be back for the second one, I hope at least. I also think it was cool that they had 2 girls, and the scenes right after their possession (like the bathroom scene) were pretty creepy. But the problem was, imo, that the time between the possession and the exorcism was so short. I wanted more creepy scenes of how Katherine and Angela were getting worse. With Regan we got to see her getting more creepy every scene. I did however like the throwback of Angela cursing at the nurses (like Regan did) and the voice of the original demon. Especially where Chris met possessed Katherine. And yeah the throwbacks and hommage in general were really cool. But it took soooo long for something interesting to happen. And when it finally got good, it was over quickly and they went to the exorcism. Lol'd at how the priest got in as the big savior and after 10 seconds got his head turned 180 degrees. The church scene w Katherine was nice too.

But what I didn't like where the many, too long and way too dramatic monologues lol. Especially by that woman (neighbor) that did the exorcism. I kinda felt bad for Katherine because she had such a------ parents and didn't make it but I still don't get why she was suddenly dead. Maybe Angela's dad was suddenly a 'believer' and that is what saved her. So yeah it definitely had it moments, but also a lot of filler dialogue. The whole opening scene was also kinda pointless. The exorcism itself was also weird even if it had some good effects. The girls did an excellent job btw!

But my main question is: how are they gonna build on this story? Will the focus be on Angela again? Or on Regan? Or are they gonna do the same as w Halloween and have some new villain/angle?

I'm not really sure how to rate this since I need to see it again when its available for download or on dvd. But I think its gonna be around a 6. Which ofcourse can be higher or lower after a second watch.
