This isn’t a horror movie but it’s technically a show in the horror genre and I’m about to watch the second season so might as well post my rating of the first season here.
Stranger Things 1
I have no complaints about this season. It’s an awesome experience that left me so intrigued that I wanted to keep watching the next episode. There was a lot of mystique here which I really enjoyed. I love the 80s setting.
10/10
Side note: it looks like Stranger Things 2 is set during October. Great timing!Marsh, Michael Myers and DiggleDogg69 like this. -

Childs Play (2019)
After seeing M3gan a few weeks ago I decided to give this another watch.
Before my thoughts about the movie I just need to get one thing off my chest: Aubrey Plaza. The things I would do for a night of passion with her. I've watched dozens of movies the past few weeks that had pretty women in it so this seems kinda random, she isn't even the prettiest. But I got a soft spot for her, so g.d. hot.
Okay, the movie: this obviously is more M3gan than Childs Play (OG) and M3gan actually borrowed a lot from this movie. What I don't get is that they chose to call the characters Andy Barcley, Karen, Mike and... Chucky, who got that name so randomly. Because this is an entirely different take, and Chucky was Charles Lee Ray's nickname.
That said, this was a great different take! The original is a classic, and a serial killer in a doll was a very original idea. And I can watch that one every year.
However I think this one is scarier. A human, even a f----- up human, I find less scary than a machine with no conscience at all. Buddi was creepy from the start and I love how they used AI/machines at the end and w the car to bring chaos -which they also copied in M3gan-. The kills were dope, the doll is legit creepy, the story is cool. Really good movie imo. They should have cut ties with the OG completely so people don't compare them.
Good movie, but not something I would watch every year. Well except for:

Talk to Me
This is such a nowadays movie. People on their phones all the time, check! Filming instead of helping, check! People addicted to something (being possessed lol), check! A transgender character, check!
However most horror movies they at least try to make the characters more likable (mostly the lead), here they didn't. Most of them were assholes lol. The only one I kinda felt bad for was the sister of the kid that smashed his head. The lead, Mia, didn't give a s--- about her at all. Yeah she was going through a bad time, sure, but she made one bad decision after another. So I was not really sad about the way the movie ended.
That said, it was an original idea, and there were some genuinly scary moments. I wouldn't call this a modern day classic, but very good effort. I also liked how they switched from the 'kick' of possession to Mia wanting to speak to her mom again, that was well done. 7.5/10Ripper Roo, Marsh and DiggleDogg69 like this. -

Ready Or Not (2019)
I have been hearing about this movie a lot lately I feel like, which prompted my decision to give this movie a main slot on my marathon. I can safely say, the hype was warranted! This movie was pretty cool and honestly, funny! I had no clue it was a horror comedy going into it, but all the humor landed pretty well. A lot of unexpected moments, but I will say that the main twist was kinda expected and not too shocking. Other than that, I had no real issue with this movie! This is the first movie I have seen with Samara having the lead role, and I def see now why people wanted her in Scream VI much longer. She killed that s---. She brought her A game, she was funny, emotional when she needed to be, all of the above really. Good s---. I am now caught back up! Back on track with tomorrow's (well, today's) movie with Nightmare from 1981!

IT (2017)
Yeah, this movie still f---ing rules. Prior to seeing this movie in theaters when it first came out, I had no knowledge about anything about this story or the book. I can say, I'm glad I went in blind back then because holy. f---. This is the first movie I ever saw that genuinely creeped me out, Pennywise is a scary a--- clown. The characters are all fleshed out and given time to shine, they all become friends in a natural way, the acting is on point, the scares are on point, the effects are on point, EVERYTHING is on point in this. 7 years later, the movie still has the same effect. Dark, nasty tone and phenomenal acting from Bill as Pennywise really keep you on edge wondering what will happen next. While Chapter Two isn't bad, I wish it was as good as this one, but it was a pretty hard bar to reach. Kudos all around to everyone involved, I truly believe this is a generational film that will be remembered and recognized for a long long time. Interested in that prequel series which I believe comes to HBO Max next year!
