Dec 2, 2024 i remember watching the first iron man like 100 times on hdcam it was almost as good as the dark knight which also just released. i remember watching the cams of both of them on my laptop and being very happy. when iron man 2 released i remember being very disappointed, even though tdkr was yet another masterpiece from wb. iron man 2 was just another hollywood blockbuster and all the magic of the first one was gone. i thought 3 managed to recapture some of that but it was still missing favreau’s trademark direction. and honestly disney+marvel was all downhill from there. although i did mostly enjoy infinity war and endgame, they’re nowhere near the level of cinematography of bvs or zsjl for example. but i don’t think that’s what they’re trying to be, which is fine. but i’d say the same about disney pixar and disney star wars as well. just not very fond of their merchandise-first diversity-second quality-third philosophy. i group a lot of dc’s secondary stuff in there also like whedon’s jl, the aquaman and ww movies, shazam, all seem a bit pointless to me honestly
Dec 2, 2024 I remember her at least having some humor to her. Black Widow is pretty boring herself in a lot of these products. She’s mostly just eye candy. Her dynamics with Captain America and Hawkeye carried her. Underneath all that she’s pretty uninteresting and her own movie wasn’t great.
Dec 2, 2024 Alright, see you next summer when it does 600M and is one of marvels most well received movies. Also Sam is literally Captain America. Captain America is a title in the comics that gets passed down.

Dec 2, 2024 Nah, Fantastic four next summer is gonna be massive. Watch the Super Bowl trailer do numbers. I think you’re severely underestimating Disney. They are gonna push this on family and Disney adults hard. Bob Iger said this a few weeks ago. Expect next year to be like this one, where they have the top 3 box office movies of the year again.
Dec 2, 2024 I agree that the only movies that should have $200M+ budgets are sure fire billion dollar smashes like Avengers and Spidey. But I’m optimistic for the future of marvel way more now then I was this time last year. Next years movies look good and give me hope for Avengers Doomsday being a return to peak
Dec 2, 2024 Most of thier stuff has just been disappointing or Mid. Nothing outwardly horrible tho except Antman 3 and secret invasion show. Most fans wanted them to make more character drama’s in preparation for X-Men since X-men is just a superhero soap opera. But they spent 5 years making content just for content sake. That’s my biggest gripe. They stop caring about an over arching story, and when they tried with Kang it flopped and no one cared. Now they are course correcting and giving us what we want with X-Men and Dr. Doom ending this messy saga. I’m very excited for Mutants and avengers in the same cinematic universe! Can’t wait
