Dec 9, 2024 Chris Evans Sets Marvel Return in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Chris Evans is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as part of the cast for “Avengers: Doomsday,” the highly anticipated sequel that will also star Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, The Wrap has learned exclusively. Evans will be involved in some capacity, but the extent and exact nature of his role is unknown. After sunsetting his Steve Rogers character in 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame,” Evans recently made a brief MCU return in this summer’s “Deadpool and Wolverine,” but as his character Johnny Storm from Fox’s “Fantastic Four” movies, not as Captain America. The Russo Brothers, who directed both Evans and Downey Jr. in “Captain America: Civil War,” “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame,” are returning to direct “Avengers: Doomsday” and its direct sequel “Avengers: Secret Wars.” “Avengers: Doomsday” is slated for release on May 1, 2026. Dec 9, 2024 It just processed to me that the casting is for DOOMSDAY, not SECRET WARS Really makes me wonder how this will go. My guess is when the multiverse crumbles during the very end of the movie or post credits, him and others will appear. He can still be casted and have no screen time until the end. He’ll be Cap for sure. Him playing Cap and Johnny might be for Secret Wars, unless they stick with the fact Johnny died in D&W. Multiverse shenanigans can bring anyone back obviously though

Dec 9, 2024 That would be wild. Only reason I say 9 months minimum for a teaser trailer of sorts it’s because of how early they released the first trailer for Thunderbolts. Having a trailer for Doomsday ready for the release of F4 is extremely unlikely, so I can see them saving it for fall/winter 2025
