Heavy Bulgarian split squats (60-100Kg) would be great to grow your legs.

In the beginning of bulking up so will be on a heavy protein diet. What do you recommend for breakfast before work?

Eggs, bread, sausages, pancakes......pretty much eat a lot of carbs & protein. That's what I did when I first started bulking. Worked out just fine. There is no trick to it, just keep eating a lot, & if you take protein powder, buy a mass gainer (serious mass recommended).

Good stuff man. Let me know how competing goes. I heavily debated it in 2012 but ended up going the magazine route instead. I've got the perfect Men's Physique look and I enjoy the training and dieting but the whole pageantry aspect of it kind of turns me off. It's something that I wouldn't do unless I had intentions of turning pro and I've heard that's extremely pricey.

Also, I don't know if you have one already but f--- buying a coach. You look like you know what you're doing so far and I can help as much as any coach can. Either way best of luck and make sure to keep us updated.

My diet 2015 cut is starting tomorrow btw for those who are interested. I'll be posting heavily in this thread and/or just making another one specifically for it. I'm shooting with the biggest fitness photographer on the planet it March so I'm treating this s--- like it's life or death.

Thanks bro, appreciate it! I have done one before, but it was Novice Men Physique (for experience). Now I know what its like I can prepare for it....still no exact date on when I'm going to compete though. My education is on my mind much more often than this is so it's definitely when I have a lot of time on my hands. I'll be honest, it's not as fun as I thought it would be, besides seeing all the hot girls around. I'd much prefer the magazine route as well. Quite wasn't so sure what I had to do for that route though. I competed just for a sponsor & when I got it, it made me want to compete more for sponsors, & ya it's very pricey. $100 for each division you select, $80 for a tan ($100 if you forget to set an appointment) & another $100 for the membership card (for the rest of the year).

Nah, never had a coach lol. I started with a friend that would go often & he showed me around the gym. Ever since that, I've been doing my thing. I'm willing to take advice & learn from others though. Thanks again dude.

Rowing machine is underrated. I don't like the treadmill so for cardio I do a solid 30 minutes two days a week on the rowing machine. I usually do intervals...go really fast for 2 minutes, 1 minute slower, 2 minutes fast, 1 minute slower, repeat until I get 30 mins in. Heart rate stays up that way without killing yourself.

So I hit a new max on deadlifts a couple days ago, 335 pounds. I weigh 175 & am 6'0. I did 5 reps 2 sets on that weight, I'm thinking of hitting 4 plates on each side next time.

@M Solo or anybody, what's the best type of protein to take? I'm starting protein and weights at the end of the month. I bought a home gym.

Depends, if your goal is to gain mass, take serious mass (I started out with that & it did the trick). If you're just looking for the best all around protein powder, it's gold standard whey.

Okay. I asked a guy at GNC and he said Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60. Not sure if maybe he recommended that just cuz it's the GNC brand or what. I'm not necessarily looking for "mass" I'd rather be lean/ripped/solid than big & bulky. If that makes sense.

I'm 6'4" 200 right now and my goal is to get up to 210 by summer. So like 10 pounds of muscle in 6 months. Is that realistic?

@Arch Dogg He's just trying to get you to buy GNC branded supps, they're known to s--- so don't listen to the dude. Yeah I feel you, right now I'm really shredded & won't want to bulk anymore. I'd suggest picking up a lean mass gainer since your goal is to gain some more weight. I'm currently taking a mass gainer from Nutrishop to reach 180 pounds (175 currently) & I'm seeing a difference. I'm maintaining being shredded, but gaining some weight at the same time. Random dude at the gym came up to me while I was talking with a friend & told me I've gotten a lot more ripped since the last time he saw me. Since you just want to gain 10 more pounds, I'd suggest elite mass even though you're not trying to bulk, it'll do the trick. I used to take this often & saw results within a couple weeks close to a month. All you honestly need is carbs & protein to gain 10 more pounds. Make sure to not eat junk & drink a lot of water. You're bound to reach your goal at that point.

Every protein powder has a different amount of scoops suggested for you to take (it shows the amount where the Nutrition Facts are displayed). It says 3 scoops for elite mass, but I'd suggest 2 scoops in the morning & 2 more scoops after a workout if you cop that. If you decide to pick up something else, let me know. I'm more than glad to help out. Oh & mix it with water, don't mix it with milk. I used to do that....it takes forever to digest since its very thick, its better with water.

Alright thanks man. I used to drink the GNC Amp mixed with milk after workouts and it made me puke once or twice cuz it was so thick my body was all stressed out afterwards. I'll mix this with water.

Any type of protein will work. Go with any brand of whey. The s--- from Wal-Mart works just as well as the expensive s--- from GNC. However, the more you spend the better it ususally tastes. I think Dymatize's Elite Whey is the best protein on the planet. Between the taste and the cost I feel it's the best on the market.
