Kendrick's the cover story of the next Rolling Stone. He "reveals" the title and talks about certain tracks!!

"Sonically, Lamar’s new album is adventurous, incorporating elements of funk, spoken-word poetry, and free-jazz, augmented by lots of live playing. (Lamar says he was listening to a lot of Miles Davis and Parliament while making it.)"

"The songs range from the intensely personal to the swaggeringly aggressive – like “King Kunta,” which could be the theme song from a Seventies blaxploitation flick."

So King Kunta's still on it (duh).

Great breakdown. I see the title/cover having more than one meaning tho. A different way to look at it is the opposite way. Rather than Kendrick being 'pimped', it is Hip Hop & Black culture that is pimping White America in modern times. Or atleast that is what Hip Hop is percieved to be doing. This is symbalised with there being a mob of ethnics on the Album cover oppressing the white man infront of the White House. The beauty in all of this is that this is the complete opposite of Kendrick being pimped out, and in turn we have an album which could potentially discuss how the once oppressed Blacks are now percieved to be oppressing/ruining a beatuiful, peacefull White America (the butterfly)

Hard not to have high expectations, but I hope that the rest of the album is able to be as high quality as TBTB and have the same sort of replay value, which GKMC lacked for me.
