these 2 albums you mentioned... you can have the argument that musically speaking, they are their best albums, they just don't have that mainstream sound. They didn't try to compromise their work for the masses.

Thanks for the input, but I just don't see how someone can put TPAB over GKMC or even S80. And Yeezus above MBDTF and CD

It's fine if you're not big on TPAB but this idea that it taints Kendrick's discography is so far off from reality. The same with Yeezus, I'm not big on that project at all. I don't think it taints Kanye's discography though.

He definitely is and is transcending the genre.

And with all these accolades and that discography, I think he's slowly progressing into that iconic music lane.

2 albums for 2 different audiences, imo tpab is probably gonna be his magnum opus. It's a true masterpiece to me. I love jazz, funk, blues, spoken word, gangster rap rnb and soul as well as conscious music, and that what I got from Kendrick without compromising himself to create some generic mainstream album. For those who love these genres, kendrick really gave us everything, and it was high quality music.

now if you're more into traditional or mainstream hip hop, you definitely gonna enjoy gkmc more... I personally don't tbh

can't say s--- for yeezus, I'm not that big on ye anymore, but I don't think yeezus taints his catalog either

TLOP's features saved the album Kanye didn't have one good verse, maybe the first on FML could be an argument but nothing sticks out.

Wow Kendrick stans proving they don't know anything about music if some jazz nerd didn't type it out for them first.
