I wouldn't call a gkmc fan a kendrick fan, its imo comparable to the recovery fans that got a lot of people sucking Eminem's d-ck due to the album being his more mainstream effort. (not really comparing gkmc to recovery, recovery is wack imo, but you get the idea)

The Tpab sound is an evolution of what featured on his early projects which had elements of the Africa diaspora & african american music so most kendrick fans actually f--- with jazz a lot. A kendrick fan would definitely tell you gkmc is the black sheep in his discography, unless he jumped on the bandwagon when gkmc came out, in this case, I wouldn't consider him as a day 1 kendrick fan. That would be like calling someone who jumped on the eminem's wave when recovery came out, I would have a hard time considering him as an "Eminem" fan.
