Since Kanye blueballed his fans once again I thought it'd be cool to make a thread that shows what the f--- is up with this project.

So back in July, Director Arthur Jafa confirmed in an Instagram Interview that he worked with Kanye to s---t a video for a record called "God's Country". Later on June 26th Kanye revealed that he was "dropping" Jesus Is King II with Dr. Dre, and the music video for Wash Us In the Blood which leaked a few days before:

Jesus Is King II ended up not dropping and it's basically a dead project now. So now Kanye shifted his focus to God's Country. Travis Scott was seen with a sweatshirt that was later confirmed to have the cover for the album:

Then in July Kanye posted a tweet showing a song called "DONDA". It is not known if the album was still called God's Country at this point, but the album was scrapped when kanye posted the first tracklist:

Then throught the next week Kanye went on countless twitter rants with 5 more tracklists, confirming not one but TWO movies and a different name for the album (Donda: With Child) Eventually July 24th came and nothing happened.
On July 25th we got the original Donda Cover:

After that Kanye went on his music industry rant and didn't say anything about Donda for month.

Kanye was supposed to be on Jimmy Kimmel Live on November 4th but cancelled 2 days before. Prior to this Kanye dropped the single Nah Nah Nah which he made after seeing fake ballot results that had him at the lead. According to reliable sources Kanye believed he was actually going to win the election and was going to announce Donda at Jimmy Kimmel. But as everybody expected Kanye didn't win the election and the album was postponed again.

So the rest of the year came and went with basically nothing happening besides him Executive Producing Whole Lotta Red.

On January 23rd A documentary directed by Dame Dash was found on Vimeo which featured 15 snippets of 15 different songs.
For the next few months Dame teased that Kanye was a part of his "Dame Dash Streaming Service" but once it came out and Kanye had nothing to do with it, Dame was ignored mainly.
After that there was nothing until July 2021 when Consequence posted a video with Kanye and Tyler, the Creator that had a tracklist in the background.

On July 18th Kanye hosted a listening party in Las Vegas for Donda. According to people who heard it, the album was fully finished and around 40 minutes long.
Later in the week we saw the new Donda cover:

Then on Tuesday the song "No Child Left Behind" was featured in a beats commercial.:

Then Came July 22nd when the Atlanta Listening party happened. Interestingly 2 Chainz was photographed recording for Donda that very day:

It is important to note that this is different from what was shown in Vegas for some reasons like for example, songs like Welcome to My Life that were shown in Vegas were not shown in Atlanta. So Midnight comes and like most expected the album didn't release. However some people brought up the fact that Jesus Is King did not release until noon, which was also backed up by Theophilus London

An open letter by Kanye West - "Creativity"

I’m on the plane listening to the college dropout. It brings back so many memories. When we made it I had all 6 parents, 4 grandparents and my mom and dad. Now I have my dad and my grandfather.

Music is so nostalgic. Every song I listen to brings me back to when I first played them for my mom, when I first played them for Dame, when I first played them for Jay, when I first played them for Kweli, when I first played them for my n----s back in Chi, when the album first came out, when I first called Ebro from Hot 97 and begged him to play through the wire, when DJ Pharris blew me up in the Chi.

We used to be the n----s rocking polo shirts, Louie back packs, paper denim jeans, and exclusive Adidas from Sporty LA. We were the underdogs. I never feel like I’m not the underdog. I never felt completely comfortable. I’m tormented by the need to create. With the loss of McQueen I feel like we lost one of those faces of modern creativity’s Mount Rushmore.

There were times that the only thing that kept me on this earth was the need and responsibility to create. Maybe McQueen felt his job was done because his last collection was the greatest of the decade. We are all so hurt. I know we’re selfish because he brought us so much joy and inspiration.

I know how it feels when the night demons come. We can’t let them control our hands and feet. Sometimes when it hurts so bad we have to just lay in the bed. Just lay in bed and don’t move please, I know how it feels. I wish McQueen could have just been still. Don’t let the psychiatrists give you their drugs because it slows down your wings. Society and public opinion can beat the wings off of angels. When god sees they can’t take it anymore he brings them back home.

During this new album process sometimes I turn the music up and drink and cry. When something sounds so amazing and ground breaking I’m reminded of why I live. I drink the pain of now 2 generations and breathe our melodies and messages. The music keeps us alive.

I was blessed with the opportunity to bring my and others dreams to life. It’s like performing magic or something. It’s surreal. We bring the unrealistic to reality. “Go hard, go hard, go hard” echoes in my dreams. When I wake up and brush my teeth and look in the mirror it’s like I see Michael and my mom and Malcolm. Who’s that African in the background mom? Oh he created the original layouts for the pyramids but was written out the history books and his MTV award was given to “aliens”.

There’s no such thing as fact anymore, only opinion. The closest thing we have to fact is “common opinion”. Everything is an opinion. The way you dress is an expression of your opinion. Your religious beliefs are your opinion. The music you turn up loud is your opinion. For most people it’s easier to just agree. For me the hardest thing is to ‘just’ agree and that is what sparks creativity, the feeling that something can be better, the feeling that something’s missing.
The feeling that something’s needed.
