Nov 30, 2024 @Justin Trudeau @AOTWClub Trigger warning for incoming glaze but this album already grew on me a ton. I figured this would be the direction but after a rap beef was won and a Superbowl performance was announced the only logical step was to make an album of bangers, of course with very well written conceptual tracks in-between cause he just can't help himself. In the album thread I categorized this with d--- and while I still do i feel like this does the job of d--- in a more straightforward and effective manner, it's an angry album where Kendrick is tired of the industry and wants to make it known while simultaneously making hits almost satirically. All that being said it's produced great as always, outside of a few songs the lyricism is relatively easy to follow, unlike some people in here I think most of the features do really well (especially Dody, SZA of course as well but that's a given) the only think I don't really like on this project was the beat on GNX, everything else is varying levels of good to great imo. Wacced Out Murals is an incredible opener, Man At The Garden albeit slow paced was worth all the build up into a great crescendo , bangers like Squabble Up, TV Off and Hey Now aside the slower tracks like Luther, Dodger Blue, and Gloria also have their own merit. Speaking of Gloria I believe it and a few other songs on here like Reincarnated, and The Heart Pt 6 are going to be all timer Kendrick tracks when it's all said and done, he usually makes some of his best work yet with songs on every single album and this is no different. Favorite Songs: Wacced Out Murals, Squabble Up, Reincarnated, TV Off, Luther, Gloria. (I could basically list the whole album) Least Favorite: GNX by default, I still think it's a fun listen but you can tell it was made 2 days before the album dropped. RATING 9/10

Nov 30, 2024 glad people enjoyed dody6’s verse, imo it had great energy and was really memorable. heart pt. 6 is so f---ing good man, reminds me of The heart part 3 which is one of my favorite instalments of the series.
