Jun 9, 2025 I've been digging into hip-hop albums I've never heard before starting with year 2000 and working my way up. This site’s been pretty useful. Found a few gems. https://www.albumoftheyear.org/genre/3-hip-hop/2000s/
Jun 9, 2025 Goated website, it has algorithmic suggestions too based on your ratings/likes! Fun way to discover albums or hear some new stuff from the current year that may have went passed your radar
Jun 9, 2025 Oh, that's cool. I’m definitely going to create an account. I really like that they include both the subgenre and overall score. Having the subgenre listed makes it way easier to narrow things down, especially with metal, but even with hip-hop too.
Jun 9, 2025 I’m honestly surprised that so many people didn’t vibe with the Big Boi album given how much love OutKast gets. Maybe next round album will be better. Personally, I actually prefer this album over most of the OutKast projects.
Jun 9, 2025 The album is cool and all but not many records can top ATLiens, Aquemini and Stankonia. Atleast for me. Those aged insanely well too.
Jun 9, 2025 I've always found OutKast a bit overrated or hit or miss but Aquemini and Stankonia are fire albums. The rest I can I live without lol
Jun 9, 2025 I-I liked it... tbf I listened to it while the scorching Texas sun was looming over me, so the heat might've melted my brain a bit lmao
Jun 9, 2025 Drop a follow if you do https://www.albumoftheyear.org/user/deegz005/ The user/critic scores is also how I gave each album their seeding placement in the 2024 album bracket I did, plan to do the same for 2025
Jun 9, 2025 I can’t get into RYM tbh, I feel like AOTY is much more smooth. Maybe I just wasn’t looking at RYM right
Jun 9, 2025 I feel like RYM shines more when it comes to lists, and editions of records. But yeah, the UI is way too dated at this point.
Jun 10, 2025 Also gonna listen to BigBoi tomorrow @Wreckless Started it this weekend but halfway I had to leave lol. Liked what I heard though
Jun 10, 2025 Was gonna listen to the Big Boi album yesterday but had to take a trip to NYC on a whim instead to destroy Jimmy Fallons office at Rockefeller Center rq: Will listen today!
