May 29, 2025 Big Monkey's Micro Penis Gave this a listen on my flight back last night, I really enjoyed it along with the creative name, gonna keep my review short but there wasn't one song I disliked! For some, as long as some songs hit the mark, it's enough to hand out a perfect score. But then you end up with a bunch of 10s that don't hold the same weight...
May 29, 2025 I mostly agree with this. I don’t think the album has to be flawless to be 10/10, but very close to flawless for sure. Like if there’s one mediocre song but the rest are absolute classic bangers, that’s probably gonna be a 10/10 for me still. Although I’ve mostly only been handing out 10s for these mixtapes as they’re user generated so I’m less harsh, and I genuinely love most of the songs. When it comes to the albums I don’t think I’ve handed out many 10s. The David Bowie album is the only one I remember giving a 10 to right now
May 29, 2025 The scores I’ve been handing out for the mixtapes have been pretty high consistently because it’s based on how many songs out of 16 I like, but once those albums hit it’ll be a whole different story. I’ve been nice about albums too in previous rounds, but I feel like I’m more critical now with albums than I was last year
May 29, 2025 I'm glad we had those mixtapes. They gave me a chance to hand out a couple of 9s. If it weren’t for them, I’m not sure I’d have rated any album that high yet lol
