What the f--- is TBT? Lol

Rate it by your enjoyment of the collections of songs basically like you do an album, then just say what songs you like and don't like or whatever!

    Silver Jews- American Water

My first takeaway from this album is how well it all flows together. I love the dismal and dark tone from the album. The guitar work is phenomenonal throughout the album as well
I don't think on my first listen through i appreciated the album that much but by my third listen through i really really enjoy it. There isn't one really weak track on here. There are also a ton of great lyrics, especially on Buckingham rabbit "I've been lonely since she found christ".

Id say my top 2 tracks are random rules and Buckingham rabbit.

    Score: 8/10

Excited to listen to Wreckless' mix, I know less than half of the artists so I'm hyped to make some new discoveries.

I do have Nightcall implanted in my brain from all my Drive rewatches though

As for mine, I think that each poster will have at the very least a few songs that they enjoy. I'll reveal more about it when we get closer to next week, but I'm cautiously optimistic about it. I'll share the artist list next saturday.

I've actually made mine a little concept even though it's just some of my favorites, helping me order the songs in a way

American Water - Silver Jews REVIEW

    Score: 8.0

    Review:
I’m gonna keep this brief because this might be the only chance I get today to type out a review. I liked it! I was hoping I’d like it more, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit. It was nice music to play in the background while I did some schoolwork. I enjoyed all of the tracks, besides Send in the Clouds. Although it wasn’t a track I was into and it also happened to be the longest on the album, it still did not feel like a long song at all if that says anything about the quality of the record. Cool pick @stepdad enjoyer !

This was a good listen. I like slower lyrical focused indie rock music like this. Added a few sons to my playlist. Only issue was some of the lyrics came across as a bit awkward and corny.

    7.5/10

If I was Jewish it would probably be 10

    @Wreckless - Get Wrekt

The mixtape combined hip hop, EDM, sweaty mountain due rock, reggae and French rap . Asides from the rap songs, I haven't listened to most of these songs. Sneaky sound system is Goated though. . My main issue was too many French rap songs. I'm sure they would be good if I could understand the language, I have just never been able to enjoy rap music in foreign languages. It was a weird mix of songs to put in a playlist but turned out pretty decent - saved a few of the songs. If I put this on at a party it would scare all hoes away.

I found it hard to rate a playlist so I will give this a score of 5/10 that will be a baseline to compare against the other playlists.

I feel like in my subconscious Silver Jews was a familiar name to me in passing but I never went out of my way to check them out, now I sadly didn't have as much time as a wanted with this record but it's safe to say I loved my time with it.

I initially started this album once or twice and quickly turned it off in exchange for more comfort music for myself cause I knew I was in the correct headspace to fully appreciate it, and I'm happy I did so cause I'm a bipolar music listener and this perfectly scratched the itch of the mood that I'm currently in.

I haven't had enough time to sit with the lyrics but I love the way they're written and conveyed, @Wreckless equated it to "old man country" and I agree but the only difference is I like that style of music more than him which made it hit harder for me, the writing style and tonality/delivery of the vocals made me reminisce on some other bands, y'all can correct me if I'm tripping but some moments felt Pink Floydian and I even got weird hints of the album Holy Ghost by Modern Baseball which made me think this album had to be a bit inspiration for some slower paced emo records, these comparisons are only on very specific line deliveries of certain songs but getting that feeling was cool.

All the instrumentation is great, much of it is slow paced but when they do decide to add more guitar or drums than usual it always works and is perfectly executed for what they're trying to achieve.

I don't really have much to complain about with this record, the last couple tracks didn't grab me as much as I wanted them to but I can see that changing on subsequent listens.

Favorite Tracks: Random Rules, Smith & Jones Forever, Night Society, We Are Real, Send In The Clouds. (I can see Blue Arrangements and People entering this list in the near future)

    RATING
8.5/10 (score will most likely get higher with more listens)

I finally found a way to make an incoherent playlist somewhat structured and I just made basically all of it including my idea for it in the last hour, I have time to figure out some possible sequencing issues and maybe a song or two to be swapped but I'm very excited now!
