    Big K.R.I.T. - 4eva Is A Mighty Long Time

    review

Favorites: Big K.R.I.T., Confetti, Big Bank, Subenstein, 1999, Ride Wit Me, Get Away, Mixed Messages, Miss Georgia Fornia(favorite track on the whole thing), Bury me in gold, get up 2 come down

least favorite: couple tracks on disk 2 I never really felt like I wanna go back to over the years but they’re still solid songs

In my opinion this is a modern classic of southern rap. Banging beats, cohesive, great flows and content, it also does not get repetitive or stale despite its long runtime. Krit has a solid discography, bar the last 2 or so albums which were, IMO, just fine. I feel like this album is something that not many MC’s would be able to surpass quality wise after dropping it, and that’s why it’s a shame the record did not get the recognition it deserved. Krit has fizzled out of the public eye lately but I remember when this thing dropped he was bordering the mainstream hip-hop circles and it felt like he will surely make it. He never did though and was kind of left on the sidelines and is, sadly, not included in a lot of these hiphop lists and discussions today.

This record does a lot over its 2 discs, it starts out with an array of bangers and progresses into some more lowkey, soulfull tracks which continue lining up on disc 2. I agree with the consensus that Disc 1 is stronger but the second one is no slouch either; besides from some personal cuts and great instrumentation on there, Miss Georgia Fornia has got to be one of the funkiest and most charming songs I’ve heard on a hiphop record ever; the song begs you to rap and sing along to it.

I applaud Krit for creating an album this ambitious and sonically diverse yet so authentic and true to his southern roots. It is rare for a hip-hop album this long to keep me engaged and interested throughout, but he definitely did it.

Alexa, play Classic Interlude by Big K.R.I.T.

    8.5/10

I did my second listen earlier. So far I think I’m liking the first disc better, there’s a lot of bangers there

Gave the big krit album my first spin earlier. Really loving it so far. I need to listen again later today. I knew I’d probably like it since I also liked his 2022 solo album

Yoko Ono’s Warzone would be a great pick. That might be the worst album I’ve ever heard lmao
