I have Yeat’s Up 2 Më as one of my options for when it’s my week, I’d give that album a very high score but knowing the taste of most users here it would probably score very low. What’s considered bad might be an utter gem to others. Even if Roo picked a “bad” album, it might score a 10 with somebody unironically.

I f--- with Roo and Wreckless, i see where y’all are both coming from, but I don’t think Roo is gonna pick an album that’s utter nonsense for the fun of it like that Brain album or whatever. If Roo did pick an album that’s just full of like fart noises and terrible autotune and just a generally unfunny album that’s trying to be funny, I would get how that’s a waste of a week.

I know nobody asked for my take but this thread is the main reason I even come back to this website still so I just hate to see fighting and bickering here

I’m not aiming for “edginess”. I’m aiming for more variety. I’m trying to bait more negative reviews out of people. This group has been way too nice. Y’all can do what you want though. Clearly people have been picking albums they think are good. I did that too but the group needs more variety or it will get boring. We shouldn’t just review good albums all the time where everyone gives it a 7 or 8. I don’t even dislike the album I’m picking, but I know you won’t like it.

The album has a few good songs but overall it’s only an album that I like in an ironic way, it’s not something I’d actually say that I like or call good. I don’t think the album is s--- but it’s mediocre and I think most people in this group will hate it. It’s not necessarily an album a lot of people hate, just an album people don’t take seriously

It's kinda surprising that aside from AMHAC, this is the most controversial pick here. Atmosphere has been on my radar for years, but I had never actually taken the time to check one of their albums out. The only expectations I really had were based on what the other club members had said.

I guess this is an unpopular opinion but I thought this album was great. Before talking about Slug's lyrics, I just HAVE to mention Ant's production. These beats are legitimately incredible. They sound familiar to me, but I can't put my finger on it. Also, having Tom f---ing Waits on a rap album (even if he just plays guitar) is a very welcome surprise.

Then... there's Slug. For the record, I've never listened to Fort Minor so I can't speak on any similarities. As for the Macklemore comparison... I just can't see it. I think Slug did a great job at creating stories that pack a punch (Yesterday is probably the best example). His voice fits perfectly with Ant' productions and some of the concepts/subject matter legit surprised me during my first listen (Me, The Waitress).

I'm really surprised that this record has proved so divisive. I'll definitely check out more of their work ("God Loves Ugly" has been on my list for years, maybe it's time to actually listen to it) and I'm glad that @Gimp suggested it

TBH I was expecting a little controversy, mainly because it's a white rapper and people get a bit weird about it.

But I definitely disagree with the comments about surface level lyrics and and story telling for the sake of story telling. I thinks It's deeper than they are giving credit. He does say some goofy stuff sometimes but this is one of the GOAT concept albums imo. That being said it's definitely backpacker underground rap, so I get why people wouldn't be into it.

Asides from God loves Ugly, Lucy Ford and You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We Are Having are also great. Their newer projects since Lemons are mostly Dad rap.
