We’ll see what my wheel decides! I’m picking one of my personal favorites instead of “album that I heard is amazing but I haven’t listened to yet”, so we’ll see how my taste stacks up compared to yalls recs!

you reminded me with this Fort Minor mention, there’s apparently a new Linkin Park single releasing on friday. It’s been 7 years since Bennington died, I wonder how it’ll sound. Is shinoda going to be the frontman or is there a new singer entirely?

Bright eyes has been tallied and added to the main scoreboard. It's tied for 8th with Ice Cube!

Definitely the most spread out scores for that album.

LIFTED or The Story Is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground - Bright Eyes REVIEW

    Score: 5.5

    Review:

Honestly, when I heard the intro, I was like "f---, I'm gonna hate this album." Unfortunately, I'm not huge on this album. I didn't hate it though, but I don't love it. There are a couple songs I would come back to on this project though. The run from Method Acting (Track 2) to Bowl of Oranges (Track 6) was pretty strong, but after that it was hit or miss. When people were saying that his voice was weird, I didn't pay much mind to it. Weird voices are fun to me with music, I love vocal inflections from people like Carti, Thugger, Yeat, Teezo, etc. but I see what people mean when it comes to this project. Sometimes it sounded good, otherwise it just sounded bad. I can't be too mad at the project though, still took a handful of tracks away from it! I wish I saw the vision enough to give it a higher score. Perhaps it's a grower, I'll go back to it in some time and give it another shot. Thanks for the pick @stepdad enjoyer !

On a semi related note, it’s funny how difficult it is to find white rappers who don’t come across as tryhards. Tom Macdonald, Logic, Witt Lowry (sorry Five) etc.. are all very cringeworthy.

Mac Miller was one of the rare exceptions. And I guess you can say Paul Wall is another one with a style that feels authentic. But in general the vast majority of white rappers s---.

I’m just glad someone finally picked a bad album. This opened the floodgates for a whole new slew of possibilities. Sometimes you gotta be brutal

Yeah I think I might resort to a wheel as well after my next pick unless a strong desire for a certain album overtakes me chronic indecisiveness lmao

I’m off the forum for a day and my entire flow gets stolen!

im kidding im kidding, love seeing how yalls personal leaderboards are looking! When there’s ties I just sort them alphabetically because I’d lose my mind trying to be like “hmmm this album is a stronger 8.5 than this 8.5!”
