We need to force @Michael Myers to listen to Carti’s “Made It This Far” as a celebration

d--- the new Dre and Snoop album was pretty underwhelming.

Didn’t really have high expectations cause this s--- is 20 years late, still though, a very messy album. Did not need to drop this one chief.

I think 7 is fair, a big part of it for me is that the album hit at the exact time I was in the mood for a well produced album in the genre and during a time where I could relate to a lot of the lyrics (even if not directly to the alcoholism themes and some stuff but certain lyrics and feelings in those songs I could attribute to myself) so it really bumped up my enjoyment of it.

I think something that's hard to get right about pop punk and emo music now is to set the right balance of edge mixed with good production (lot of stuff now is overproduced or compressed) and actually feeling like you're speaking from genuine experience instead of the TikTok "I swear I'm really depressed and want to die isn't that cool?" a--- TikTok anthems and these guys have sincerity in droves.

Appreciate that I found something that you're jank level autist on genuinely. If I end up diving deeper in definitely gonna keep those projects in mind!

First listen done already lol not sure what I think really.

I struggle with the genre cause it's not what I really listen too. Not a bad first listen though tbh

Metal is a broad genre and metalcore is just one of it's many subgenres.

Jank had a metalcore pick a couple albums ago. Two very different bands of course.

Nice. I don’t know the difference between metal and metalcore, so I guess I’m about to find out

I remember watching the Nuketown video by Ski Mask and Juice WRLD then going to bed, for some reason when I was going to bed I kept thinking about how at the time we had lost so many artists recently and I was scared who would be next.

A few hours later, Juice passed. Was crazy waking up to that news

A lot of the emo/punk/hardcore scene have had the tradition of extremely long winded and/or silly song titles for a long time, idk what started it or if it's just meant as a funny juxtaposition to subject matter but it's always fun where there's a good one. X seemed into the scene somewhat from the little I know so I wouldn't be surprised if that was another part of the influence for sure

Do you need a sub for Spotify?

Youtube playlist is free so there's always that.

As cheesy as it sounds, Dookie has a raw sound and feel to it that is just addictive. Matches the energy to some classic albums like Doolittle by Pixies or some later stuff from the Clash.
